Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for biking, even better for day hikes. This is perfect pack for day hikers. I have plenty of space to organize the Ten Essentials plus have room for all the extras like camera and snacks. The front compartment is perfect for all your small items while the main part has a zippered divider to have a separate compartment on the bottom. I use it for my DSLR and extra lens but my compressed sleeping bag fits snuggly in there. I bought the 32L bag because I will be doing some day hikes during the winter time so a little extra room for some base layers and compressed down jacket. Overall this bag has it all, including a spot for your hydration bladder. Pick this up quick, and use they are quick on delivery!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack I bought this pack for a 2 week bikepacking trip on the Colorado Trail and it was perfect. I also own a Raptor for everyday mountain biking and once back from the trip never switched back to the smaller pack because this one was so comfortable I didn't notice the difference. I use this pack for everything now. Day hiking with the kids, my 10-mile bike commute to work with laptop and clothes, weekend getaway trips, carry-on for flights...everything. Great versatile pack and Osprey quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical quality Osprey pack Bought to use for bike packing. Plenty of storage options to organize your gear. Second Osprey bicycling specific pack I've bought. Would not hesitate to purchase again. Very durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE This Bag! Please see my prior notes on Talon and Sirrus! I finally landed on this bag and must have told my husband over 20 times on our trip "Have I told you how much I love this bag!?!?!?" I was looking for a lightweight, good-fitting bag with lots of storage options for carry on to planes, trains and ferries while traveling to Italy. I also wanted the bag to serve as a quality day pack for hiking and exploring. I didn't want a stuff sack but wanted to access the storage via zippers. What I love about this bag is the versatile storage options and massive amount of storage without the weight. If considering this bag, research all the pockets--one across the tip top for little things-keys, kleenex (things you aren't worried about getting stolen), a small cell phone pocket on the front of one of the straps (LOVED!!!!), a divider in the main pocket so you could keep wet or less important things on the bottom, a teeny slim pocket across the very bottom (generally holds the rain cover but I didn't take it) and several internal pockets. And all this with adjustable hip, shoulder and chest straps. I seriously cannot say enough things about this bag. My only two wishes...more color options and elongating the hip pockets that run across the sides so they are easier to access.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Full-Featured Pack This is a great pack for biking, day hiking, and overnight trips. In addition to a dividable large main compartment, the Escapist 32 is loaded with a number of smaller pouches and pockets, which are thoughtfully placed - I especially like that the hydration pouch is outside of the main compartment. The rain cover is a nice touch, as are the reflective accents and tail-light attachment.,,,,The pack has a durable feel to it, and is easily adjustable - as with many Osprey packs, there are no shortage of adjustment and compression straps.,,,,Overall, this pack has a very thoughtful, functional, and versatile design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Update to earlier review... Wanted to update from an earlier review. While I still love this bag, I've stumbled across a major issue. The front chest pocket was wonderful this last summer with my old iphone 5. I appreciated having my phone right in front of me and it was super easy to access for photos etc. Now, our family has upgraded phones and pocket was not made for bigger phone designs. The iphone 5 "just" fit in the pocket and anything bigger doesn't work at all. Super disappointed right now, as the waist pockets aren't big or long enough for a phone either. Only option is to have it in the main part of the bag, which is obviously not convenient. Not sure that I would have purchased knowing this would be an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit for my son!!! Bought this pack for my son for Christmas. He immediately filled it with all his hiking items and has used it already since he got it. It fits great and is very lightweight. The rain cover was a great addition and will keep his gear dry on those rainy days. Shipping was fast and I am very happy with this great purchase. Thanks Moosejaw!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Nice I have been looking for a bigger bike pack and this is the one. It fits well and does not change my center of gravity when I ride my Mountain bike and it seem to have a nice flow while I am on my road bike!!

Is this backpack able to hold a laptop?

Asked by: Rob13
Hiya Rob13, thanks for your question! This pack is roomy enough to carry a laptop, however, there is no designated padded sleeve for it. It is definitely do-able but not designed for it. Hope this helps! Did you know this pack includes a rain cover? Bonus!
