Too badass to be a tote bag and too awesome to be a briefcase, the Osprey Elroy Courier Bag is in a league of its own when it comes to over-the-shoulder bags. Featuring a padded laptop sleeve that accommodates 17-inch displays and organizer pockets to hold your iPod, pens, and keys, this bag holds everything you need for a day at the office to a day on the trail or a day of globetrotting travel. The flap on the top accommodates over-sized items and the bag is constructed out of a fabric made of ground-up water and pop bottles: durable and Earth-friendly. Mary Poppins traded up from her bag to this one to fit all of her stuff. No, seriously. She’s real.

"Just as Sweet as Everyone Says"  03/20/12

The Osprey Elroy is just as awesome as all the reviews say. Tons of room, tons of pockets for organization, super cool style, seems supremely tough. As a bonus, it's made of recycled materials, and Osprey has an excellent lifetime warranty. Please note that it IS very big for this type of bag. So if you want a bag just to carry one book and a banana to work, I'd recommend something else (maybe Osprey's smaller version?). Personally, I was going for the ultimate airplane under-seat carry-on that could fit a laptop, kindle, camera, sweatshirt, sandwich, mature racoon... This baby definitely fits the bill.

"I am a bag addict; this feeds my addiction well."  03/30/11

I use this bag for school purposes. It carries my 17" widescreen laptop and my texts/teacher's manual/lab manuals, etc.I can get a 32 oz Nalgene bottle in each side pocket--awesomeness on it's own. A lot of people have commented on how much they love my bag. i don't even have it expanded as far as it will go, but I still have plenty of room to cram more stuff into the bag. Lots of organizational pockets, the see-thru feature on some of the pockets is nice. Two thumbs up for quick access via to the main compartment. The ability to attach the bag to a suitcase/tote handle is nice.Hubs may be discouraged over "one more bag!" but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

"Great Multi-Purpose Bag"  03/13/11

I purchased this bag as I have a 17" laptop that I could not find a computer bag to carry it in. This bag has very well thought out compartments for storing mutliple items and not only does my 17" laptop fit in there very well but my iPad does as well. It has a incredibly comfortable shoulder carrying strap and good hip belt for giving you the extra stability when carrying for an extended period of time. All Osprey products are made to last and this bag is right in line with the rest of their gear.

I bought this bag for work and carry it there everyday. It is perfect. The bag has multiple compartments and pockets, plenty of room and looks great. This bag is by far the best courier bag that I have purchased.

"Best In Class"  07/29/10

I've had this bag for a week now and I've used it for my carry-on on a round trip from ORD to ATL and then to work every day this week. Great bag! When its lightly loaded, it lays flat and looks professional enough for the office. Load it up, open the expander zipper, and it can hold far more than you'd expect. Tons of pockets and pouches, I safely carried a net book and a Nikon D200 with zoom lens and never worried about it. I also tried out the Patagonia Half-Mass/Critical Mass and the similar North Face bags and this one came out as the most practical and useful of the bunch.

"Get the job done"  12/06/09

Best laptop bag I have ever used. Although the bag does not look particularly large, it swallows an enormous amount of stuff. I can do a quick overnight travel from this bag if I am not carrying much. There is plenty of pockets for organization and a really cool open back pocket that lets me stuff items I need quick access to. The laptop sleeve is not the most well protected I have seen, but no problems when I have dropped the bag. The shoulder strap does tend to twist badly if you have it lengthened. Highly recommended.

"Perfect for the Daily Commute"  11/15/09

I got this bag to replace my backpack that was falling apart at the seems hoping that it would be able to carry the same load while looking a little more professional on the daily commute. The Osprey Elroy does just that -- fits my 17 inch Mac Book Pro like a glove (with its own sleeve, which I was very particular about), and leaves plenty of room for anything else that needs to accompany you on your day. I'm in law school and can fit the MacBook Pro and 2 big casebooks comfortably. There's still extra room for a lunch bag, etc. And both side compartments fit a large nalgene bottle. Front flap perfect for things that need to be accessed quickly.

"It made me leave my trusty Crumpler that I'd left my Timbuk2 for"  09/01/09

Buy it and love it. This bag's pretty awesome - light, sturdy, and looks great. That black panda color - it has some really black parts, like a panda. Plenty of pockets, zippers, and a neat, adjustable strap. Unlike my old Timbuk2 Commute, the mesh side pockets are actually big enough hold a water bottle. Unlike my Crumpler Horseman, there's somewhere to stash the excess strap. The bag also doesn't feel as heavy as others when loaded down (for those of you who can't read between lines, that means it distributes weight better - Bwahaha!).Great bag - oops, gotta get back to work - here comes my boss.

"Huge. Like a cave."  08/19/09

Everyone is spot on. This is a spectacular bag. It's a bit like a cave system: enormous, with like eight different ways to get to the main cavern and you'll find a new one every time you open it. It fits a 15.4' laptop well, but not snugly. The easy open zipper on the back is genius and allows pretty good access to the main compartment. I've been able to pull out a textbook past my laptop. It gets a little fiddly when the bag is crammed full, but day-to-day I don't even begin to cram this bag full. Redwood color is more rust-orange than red. There is a velcro patch to keep the flap closed, in addition to the buckles.
