The Osprey Daylite Backpack is a travel backpack for bringing along on your journeys to new places. This Osprey AddOn™ attaches to compatible packs (for example: the Sojourn or Shuttle series) when wheeling around the airport and quickly detaches when you leave your luggage at the hotel and are ready to explore the city. The backpanel features slotted foam with mesh covering and spacer mesh straps, all to help wick sweat. The large interior space hangs onto tablet, long sleeve, or maybe a lunch. The smaller front pocket secures keys, a pen, and other small items. Tuck a water bottle into one of the two side mesh pockets and you're ready for the museum, a day hike, and more.

OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The lightweight, not-too-big backpack I've been looking for! I've been shopping around for the perfect backpack for a long time, and have ordered and returned several from other companies. Finally I found one I want to keep! I have an old Patagonia daypack I like very much, except that its lack of pockets drives me crazy. I was looking for something of similar size and weight but with more organization, and this one delivers. It has just enough organization, as I find excess pockets to be annoying. The side water bottle pockets are fine for small to medium bottles. The smaller storage pocket has two mesh pockets (good for phone) plus key fob. Nice light grey lining. The main compartment has a sleeve where I can fit my 11" Macbook Air (bit of a squeeze with Incase sleeve over it), and where an iPad would fit easily. Pack has a few more straps than I consider really necessary, but you can remove the waistbelt. Don't be deterred by this pack's being listed under "Men's backpacks" - it's actually the perfect size for me as a 5'3" small-framed woman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid little day pack A nice little backpack. It fits onto the larger Osprey packs with the little toggles, so it can be used as a daypack. The straps are very ergonomic for a pack with little to no padding, so it will carry a few liters of water comfortably. I've used this on day-long hikes in the Grand Canyon and on the Olympic Peninsula, as a travel pack for 2-4 day trips, as carry-on for flights. I managed to crack one of the buckles after buying it, but I'm pretty sure that's because it got crunched when I closed the lid of a dry box on it, so that one's on me. And my husband liked my Daylite enough that he got one of his own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Things Come in Small Packages I carried this bag as my every day bag for 10 days in Europe and was very pleased with it. It's so light, even when fully packed, that I often forgot it was there. Having said that, just be warned that it isn't a huge pack, so you can't carry everything you own in it. But, I carried a jacket, camera, tablet, and other various and sundry things with no problems. The straps could be padded slightly more, but I was never uncomfortable carrying the pack. And, for the price and the Osprey guarantee, you just can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No single day adventure is complete without my Daylite pack from Osprey! Buckle your seat belts and hold on tight because this little pack will take you for a ride! The Daylite pack will have you covered for anything from a day fishing/kayaking on the lake to biking or hiking your favorite trails. It will hold most anything you need and nothing you don't. The front pocket is great for holding things like your phone, wallet, keys, multitool, and snacks. However the inside is just as outstanding, it has enough room for an extra jacket and lunch with room to spare for any extra equipment or tools. Light weight and durable this pack will hold up to anything you can throw at it (except for maybe a bear... they're pretty scary)! Leaving the house without this pack is like dropping your ice cream cone, no bueno! Buying this pack will instantly make you a pro adventure! Highly recomended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for day hikes Bought this as my first pack for day hikes. it is comfortable and large enough to hold all the essentals plus any other non essentials I decide to carry. Great color choice (always important) and would recommend this to anyone going for shorter hikes who want a lightweight affordable comfortable backpack

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great daypack, but not particularly useful as an expansion to a larger pack I bought this daypack solely because it has the capability of attaching to my larger Osprey backpacking pack (the Arial 55). It does indeed attach fairly securely, but not if both bags are full. It is a major strain to get the Daylite onto the Arial 55 when the larger pack is packed-- the Daylite has to be nearly empty. This is unfortunate because it means this daypack doesn't really expand the storage capacity of my larger backpack.,,,,Otherwise, the Daylite is great. I like the size (smallish medium, just right to hold a day's essentials) and it feels really well made. It also has hip and sternum straps but I don't typically use them. Osprey's Almighty Guarantee (will replace for any reason, any time) is always a plus. Definitely a great multipurpose backpack, especially in the black color since it will go with everything. I would recommend this daypack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pack Absolutely love this day pack. Knew I had to review it when I spent three hours hiking in pouring rain with this on my back and nothing inside got wet! This pack fits my Nalgene, hammock, change of clothes, snacks, phone, and Tevas perfectly. The straps are perfect for adjusting to fit your body for easy hiking. Extra bonus: my dog got a hold of one of the waist buckles and chewed on it for a good hour before I noticed. The buckle held up and although it looks nice and chewed on it still works perfectly! Tough, perfect small backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Awesome Opsrey Pack My husband and I have older Osprey Daylite Backpacks and love those. We decided to purchase two more so than when our kids are home from college we can each have a small pack for day hikes. It has ample space for water bottles, food/snacks, and a sweatshirt or light jacket. Would recommend this pack for anyone, male or female.
