OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pack that will last a long time. Very satisfied! With a full load, the pack wears very comfortable for me and feels balanced, stays centered while on rough terrain. Got it in large, I'm 5'10, and it fits me like a glove. The hip strap is comfortable for me with 25-30lbs, weight rides on my hips. The fabric for the side pockets are a bit snug for my 1 liter Nalgene, but the elasticity and seams have handled very well, 3 overnight trips so far. The straps allow you to compress the pack very well, and have held up to tough use with no signs of wear. The stow and go aspect is a nice feature that I did not care about until I used it for the first time, quick and convenient. I am an Osprey fan for life after this pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb proof Love this pack! I've had one for 6 years and other than a little dirt, it is like new. It probably has close to 2,000 backpacking miles on it and it is still going strong. A great weekend pack or longer distance pack for relatively light packers. Lot's of good features - the right amount of pockets, good hydration setup, good suspension. It is a tad heavy for ultralighters' taste, but the stronger materials are what contribute to it's long life. One thing I'd note is that it is a men's pack and the women's equivalent is too narrow in the shoulder straps for me. So, this pack might work well for broader shouldered/stocky women, but really broad dudes might find it to narrow a fit. Overall one of my best pieces of gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect so far! Ive yet been able to use to pack on a backpacking tip, but I've used it several time for trips to visit family. I love the adjust-ability and all the various straps. It feel very comfortable and fits me perfectly. I'm 5'10" and 160lbs. I'm also really into how awesome it looks. The outer 2 pockets are larger than I expected, which is really great for easy access.,,The shipping and customer service was awesome! I particularly liked the "sealed with a kiss" and free bumper sticker. We'll just wait and see how well it holds up. I have super high hopes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth 10x times its weight in gold I recently went on a backpacking trick with this bag and I loved it. Comfortable to wear for hours. Just enough to hold everything I needed for a couple nights in the mountains. Good quality bag with an amazing warranty should anything happen to it. I am going on a long trip to the middle east and I plan to only take this bag as along.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Niumber of Cons; Maybe One Pro The water bottle pockets are set too far back. I cannot reach back far enough to get a bottle in or out. Even worse, the pouch is a soft, silky mesh material, and has no form or shape. So, the opening stays collapsed on itself and you can't find the opening with the bottom of the bottle. You need to extend both arms and hands back there to try to hold the opening open so you can slip the bottle back in. It is just too far back to futz with, and I strain all my muscle trying to reach back there.,,,,The breather element on the inside of the back is not made for comfort. It's very taut, very stiff wire mesh or something. If you are wearing layers of clothing in cold weather, you don't feel the coarse wire. Now in the warmer months, with just a tee shirt on, it feels like I have a bed box spring across my back. Very uncomfortable. ,,,,The torso adjustment is difficult. You have to stick one hand down there to separate the rough Velcro (ouch!), and other to move the panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag Great bag for weekend trips. Lots of room to stuff it full and easy access to all compartments. Very comfortable bag to wear for extended periods. As usual, a great product by Osprey!
