The Atmos 35 by Osprey will get you through most overnighters and will help you ace your next 24-hour adventure race. The all-new Atmos Series addresses the ultralight revolution as only Osprey could - with a suspension that really carries weight, and fabrics and materials that will realistically stand up to the rigors of use. The AirSpeed suspension sets the Atmos Series above all other ultralight packs. The Atmos frame is 6005-T6 alloy aluminum with two 6" x 5mm fiberglass struts providing flex in the middle. Unlike other mesh tensioned backpanels that are simply flat panels suspended from 4 tensioned corners of an X-frame, this panel is 3D contoured. Additionally, there is a lumbar contour at the bottom and the backpanel follows a back curvature. All contact surfaces are either breathable mesh or perforated, molded waffle foam. The backpanel supports the load well because it is under drum-like tension. When wearing the pack, rather than compressing the load with comp straps at the hips, the back sinks evenly into the lumbar area providing comfortable uniform pressure with no hot spots. With durable 210D fabrics and a weight range of 1 lb., 15 oz to 2 lb., 13 oz. these packs are both light and strong. Two quick release web straps at the top end of the inside of the backpanel provide attachment for your hydration bladder. These straps slide on the aluminum tubing at the top and can be positioned on center or two hole connection points. A central exit for the hydration tube allows routing to either the right or left shoulder strap. The hipbelt and shoulder pads are a waffle molded EVA with perforations. This allows for minimal surface contact and superb ventilation. The hipbelt has a mesh zippered pocket on each side for quick access to energy gel and the like. On the front of the pack, you'll find stretch woven lycra front and side pockets and welded water resistant zippers.

"Lightweight, comfortable, and durable. But packing efficiently is a chore." |
07/07/09 |
| This is a great pack with one big flaw. Though it has served me well the past year, and the air suspension has never lost it's novelty or comfort factor, I have a few issues with it. . the interior has a long compartment down the middle of the spine. If you pack this, it can make getting a notebook or laptop into the bag very difficult. Also, it has an odd bend at the bottom of the bag that can make packing it a challenge. Overall, a B- effort from an A+ maker. | |

"my best purchase this year" |
11/12/08 |
| This pack made hiking so much more comfortable for me. The straps and hip-belt are very comfortable, despite their thinness. The hip-belt pockets can hold multiple energy bars. The hydration pocket holds a full 3L bladder, and each side stretch pocket can hold a 1L bottle. The interior is slightly smaller than you'd think because of the curve of the suspension, but the trade-off is that your back stays cool and not sweaty. If you want more space, you can put your water bladder between the mesh panel and the suspension, but that will block the air flow across your back. If you're limber you can reach the back stretch pocket without taking the pack off. Took this all over Utah and Yosemite! | |

"Good lightweight bag for long torso-ed overnighters" |
07/10/08 |
| Used this bag as an short-trip add-on to a monster duffle 24 day trip through Israel. I have a 23in torso and needed a comfy bag for hiking. From the start, it handled the airport quite well. I was a bit nervous about fitting under the seat and the Large size is 1/2 inch too long for the official carry-on size, but not a problem. Easy to throw overhead as well. I would have been petrified to place it under the plane with the number of pieces hanging off of it. On the trip, a bit big for a day-pack and the frame makes it difficult to cram onto buses. On the plus side, having it sit next to me ensured two seats. When overnights in the desert and on the beach were had, the bag w | |

"Awesome summit pack" |
05/22/08 |
| Awesome summit pack. I use this or long approaches for many of the Colorado 14ers that I have to backpack into. Its light weight 3 lbs let me pack it in and its size and narrow profile are great for those class 3-4 scrambles near the summit. Also a great day pack where most your weight is just water and the 10 essentials. | |

"great pack, great company, but MOOSJAW IS AWESOME" |
03/19/08 |
| This is an awesome pack. Great size for weekend backpacking. The mesh back panel system is awesome. It is almost cold when hiking in the late winter, so I just stuffed a pullover in there and I was warm. I am sure it will be great in the summer no more sweaty back. Not to be outdone, Moosejaw is a fantastic company. You really took care of me on this purchase, Thanks. | |

| I love the back of this thing becasue it keeps my back cool even in some pretty hot weather. Packing it takes getting use to because of the suspention but after packing it a couple of times thats no problem. I love my pack and I tell my friends that are looking for one to consider this one. | |

"Would buy 2 if I didn't need only 1" |
02/20/08 |
| Just got into this wonderful sport - hiking. Borrowed the Atmos 35 from a friend for a couple of day hikes in Colorado and feel in love with the pack. Ordered one as soon as I got home. Can't say enough about the air circulation on my big sweaty back. Perfect pack for dayhiking in Texas. | |

"Lacks versatility" |
11/01/07 |
| To put it bluntly, I'd keep looking before I'd purchase this pack again probably wouldn't. It's tough to load, tough to balance. Not very versatile when it comes to some of the extras it just seems plain reasonable to hang off it, eg, a sleeping bag every so often yeah, I know That's not what it was intended for ... right?. Forget about accessing the side compartments when it's on your back think water bottle, tools, sun block. And some of the compartments that seem like they should serve other purposes are rendered useless when this is packed out, due to compression from other compartments. It's just too disappointingly not accomodating. I expected more.... | |
