"Protect your investment"  05/19/12

It's essential that you protect your beloved expedition pack and the hundreds of dollars of gear it contains. I see this purchase as a necessary evil. My only grip, is that with my fully loaded 70 pack, the flimsy little airporter handle/strap didn't really cut it. I've only had a chance to use this product once and I can already tell it's not going to last the test of time.

"Great for flying or hauling a bunch of bananas"  05/17/12

One on my favorite pieces of equipment for adventure travel, The Airporter. Yo dawg, we heard you like backpacking so we put a backpack in yo’ backpack so you can backpack while you backpack!!

"Does the job but..."  05/16/12

This pack cover is great for air travel when you don't want your travel pack scratched up or damaged. My only gripe is that once your travel pack is in the pack cover, it's rather cumbersome to lug around. I had to resort to dragging my travel pack once it was inside the pack cover or else it was too awkward to handle. I wish there was a better carrying strap on the pack cover. Otherwise, it's a must-own.

"A reliable travel companion"  08/08/11

This pack cover has kept my pack and gear safe and sound through a year of travels. It does what it was designed to do and well.

"This is a great way to protect that overpriced expedition pack you bought!"  07/20/11

I was really surprised about how large of a bag I was able to fit into the airporter. After having lots of webbing/buckles/whatever ripped off of bags by baggage carousels, this was a really, really worthwhile idea. Plus, if you get a little souvenir crazy, you can always use the airporter as a second bag on the way home in a pinch.

"Not bad for the money"  01/30/11

Like a few people said, the shoulder strap feels a little flimsy. However, it was not a problem for me. It covered my pack and was fine to carry through the airport and into a hotel room. Kept my pack from getting caught on anything. Nice that it packs into itself for storage. A worthwhile purchase if you want an inexpensive way to protect your pack a bit when flying.

"not a bad pack transporter"  12/14/10

works good jsut don't hope to carry it on your shoulders for to long as it is uncomfortable. Defianlty not like wearing the back around.

"Gets your pack from point A to point B."  12/12/10

I bought this to take my pack on a cross-country flight as checked luggage. Having read the horror stories online about people checking packs without some sort of cover, I decided that this would be a worthwhile investment. After shimmying my very full Gregory Deva 70 pack in, there was still a lot of extra headroom for random stuff, like a pillow. Even though the airporter has a shoulder strap, I wouldn't rely on it for any serious hauling. The only thing this product should be used for is to simply cover your pack to keep the straps from getting caught in all that baggage handling machinery.

"Serviceable but really awkward"  10/18/10

The Airporter is essentially a great big sack that only comes in one size - humungous. Unless you have the very largest of backpacks it will swallow what you have and leave a lot of flappy space to deal with. It's like putting a 5lb sand bag into a 30 gallon trash bag. The single shoulder strap is worthless given the design. On the plus side it does fold up into a nice neat package, is lightweight, and will protect your bag from most abuse. It needs a redesign - 1) make several sizes so that we can get a better fit for our packs. 2) ditch the shoulder strap and put in a couple of strap handles on the top and sides so that we can carry thing like a duffle bag.

"A Definite Must Purchase for Packs on Airplanes"  10/01/10

I purchased this for my new pack and immediately had to use it for a flight to Atlanta. This bag protected my bag incredibly as compared to my buddy's bag that was shipped and had broken clasps. If you are going to fly to a hiking trip this is a great purchase and more than worth the money.

"For the most part does what it is suppose to do."  04/22/10

Went to Europe a few years ago and purchased this bag for my North Face pack. After about the 5th time it was checked the back started to rip and it was all down hill from that point. For the most part it is a good bag but after it starts to go no amount of Duct Tape will hold it together. If the airlines were not as hard on bags are they are I could rate it higher but alas I cannot.
