"Great pack with plenty of space for a weekend trip!" 05/21/12
So far this pack is great. Plenty of space for everything that I need for a short trip (just have to be careful not to overpack since everything I need doesn't fill the whole pack). The material seems durable so far, and the multiple pockets are well thought out and allow me to keep my stuff organized and easily accessible. After some adjustment period, I've got the fit just right and this bag is super comfortable!
"Great Backpack for the weekend or week long trip" 10/11/11
I purchased this backpack several years ago and have used it about a half dozen times with no problems at all, it is very easy to adjust on the fly and has lots of useful features. This pack holds a lot of gear and is easy to get stuff in and out of. The lid can be detached and used as a fanny type pack, I have not used this feature but it is there if you want it. The hip belt is moldable and I have not had the chance to get up to one of the Moosejaw stores to get this done and even though it is not molded to my hips it is still very comfortable. I would purchase this backpack again.
"Sturdy Midweight backpack" 10/10/11
I recently tested my Osprey Aether 60 (Medium) pack on the Pinhoti trail in AL. On this trip I carried just under 30lbs and it felt very well supported on both uphill and downhill parts of the trail. The design also helps to provide airflow between your back and the pack. I have not yet had my pack belt heat molded to me but I am looking forward to that, (it was usable/comfortable without the custom moding IMHO).
"This backpack holds everything You need for a luxury weekend in the woods." 07/07/11
This pack provides enough comfort and the ability to carry a good amount of weight without pain, it's removable top pocket it pretty key as well. I also love the forming waist belt.
"Great product!" 07/03/11
My husband bought this bag for hiking and he loves it. It is very functional with all the different pockets. The colors are great as well as the size. He loves the fit of the bag and how the hip belt molds to his body. He would definately recommend this bag.
"for traverse" 06/27/11
This pack is very strong and useful. We packed tent, wear, food, sleeping bag and other gear in this bag when climb Japanese North Alps. And I leave this bug in tent, and I use compatible top to attack the peak. It's so good!
"Worth taking a look at" 06/03/11
I just started to backpack in the last year and do not have a lot of experience with other packs unless you count the old aluminum frame ones from 25 years ago which I used while in the boyscouts. This pack was a huge improvement from those old ones, had it loaded up with 35lbs of gear and hit the trail, could hardly tell it was on my back once I got it adjusted correctly. That is the really nice feature about this is that you can adjust the shoulder straps to get the perfect fit, this took me several tries but once I got to the sweet spot it was awesome. I would encourage anyone out there looking at packs take a look at this one and give it a try. Love the Madness!!!!!!!!
"Versatility is the name of the game" 05/30/11
From a weekend in the midwest forests to a 6-day trip through the toughest terrain the Grand Canyon has to offer, this pack works. Very comfortable. Got a little chaffing from the hip belt but realized my shorts were the culprit. Weekend to multi-day trips carrying 2 days worth of water and the space isn't even maxed out. Plenty of outside straps. I’m a pretty minimalist packer, but there is still plenty of room for what you NEED. Excellently versatile, comfortable and reliable. Only Downside: The side elastic pockets are ridiculously difficult to get anything out of. DO NOT expect to be able to retrieve your own Nalgene while hiking.
"Saved My Life" 02/20/11
Excellent pack, light comfortable, holds a lot, etc.It also remained buoyant during a several hundred yard tumble from a botched crossing down a snow melt engorged creek/river, keeping my head above the water and off of rocks. Kept my sleeping bag dry as well, so I was able to warm up once I peeled off my clothes that were literally frozen to my body.
"Osprey is the Way to Go!" 01/31/11
I purchased this pack on a recommendation from a friend and it has been great. It is large enough to use on multi-day trips or a weekend trip. The shoulder and waist straps fit great and help distribute the load to allow your less stress on your shoulders. I suggest having the hipbelt heat formed as it makes the fit even better. The Rain cover for the pack is great as well. The last time I put the pack into use was for a multi-day hike that was rained on 75% of the time. All of my gear stayed dry...minus my feet. All around a great purchased...Highly recommend!!
"Great pack." 01/06/11
Big enough to hold everything you need, and a lot of stuff to make your trip more comfortable. Very comfortable. Virtually bomb proof. Have only had it out in good weather/light rain, but my kit stayed dry. Compresses well for lighter loads too.
