Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome weight and performance Since this purchase I have traveled the Andes Mountains in Peru using this stove. It is perfect to fit into my backpack and to keep in my day pack for quick tea, coffee, scramble some eggs or just saute vegetables. Peru is full of Mercado's and this stove fulfills your adventure tastefully. I had no problems with the stove and I did purchase the igniter (best choice ever) . The Optimus is lightweight and takes up almost no room in your pack but provides full on culinary adventures. More than not highly suggest this stove. I gave up the jetboIL so I could actually have pots and pans to cook with. Best move ever!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy, light and powerful I have used this several time on various hikes / camping trips. Usually, I use it with a light 110g fuel canister. This product is lightweight (perfect for backpacking), powerful enough to boil water in under 3 minutes and compact. Everything fits neatly together - small fuel canister & burner nest inside the cups, which fit together and slide into a storage "sock". Flame control is managed via a small, easy to use lever. The burner prongs expand to provide additional stability. The only "Con" - this unit has to be lit manually with a lighter or match. Some burners come with an automatic lighters. Otherwise, this is a great performer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from small, but poweful This sounds like a jet engine once it's lit and performs like one too! I use it in the morning to get the morning coffee in while I'm building a fire. Makes the task of wood collecting that much easier. The supplied pot just barely holds ramen and the water needed, so it's definately for solo treking. My big complaint is that it doesn't accomodate larger pots very easily. But as a back up or just for a cup of joe, perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great option. Awesome little system. It's tiny. Pot, pan, stove, fuel, all in a small package. Can't count how many times I've used this set. Perfect for 1 or 2 peoples' meals at a time. Stove boils water in about 3 minutes for me outside at around 30 degrees. Only downside is the fuel regulator is pretty sensitive. Keeping it on low without the flame going out takes a wizard's touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me I boil water for my dehydrated food and warm beverages, that's it. The little lid for the top, that's my cup. 4 oz fuel, spork, dishrag (around fuel so no scratch pot), crux lite stove, some seasoning packets fit neatly into this pot. Actually cooking something raw in this thing, not so much...maybe an egg or a tiny squirrel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big things come in small packages. This little stove is powerful. It quickly boils water. Perfect size for boiling water, dehydrated meals, or drinks. The frying pan is a little small to actually cook anything in...maybe an egg. I love that you can pack the stove, fuel, and a spork in the pot and pan! This is the perfect solo set that is extremely light weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solo set for the ultra-lighter It's a very basic setup, but really all you need for yourself in the backcountry. I usually just boil water and add it to one-bag meals. The stove is touchy and needs to be readjusted frequently, but it does a great jobs of conserving fuel. Boils water quick!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good stove Good stove. Small and light. Boils water quickly. The pot is perfect for a solo trip. My only complaint is that when you go to adjust the flame, it flickers with the slightest touch. I had to relight it once.
