Omega Pacific Rappel Rings

The Omega Pacific Rappel Ring is crafted with forged aluminum and designed for bail-outs and rap stations. The Omega rappel ring is anodized gray for minimal visual impact, and features solid construction that provides 20 kN minimum breaking strength, or over 4400 lbs. The rappel ring is not intended for repeated lowering.

This climbing gear is NOT designed to be used as a rappel or belay device (e.g. ATC, SBGII, Figure-8 or any other friction device). It is intended solely as a hardware alternative to bail-out slings, webbing and cord. Sorry for yelling about it.

I purchased a couple of these to rig my slackline and the work perfectly. you could definitely right the slackline without them but it looks much neater with them on there, plus it doesn't reduce the strength of the webbing like a knot does.

"perfect for my hammock" 11/23/11

i love these rings, nice and chunky but nice and light. i bought them solely for my hammock but its nice to know i could use a pair in emergencies for a whole array of tasks. you never know when a camping trip turns into a survival adventure.

"Keep in your stash in case of emergencies" 05/18/10

Climb enough, and you'll eventually find yourself in a situation that requires to bail in the middle of the climb. Keeping one or two of these on your rack lets you leave minimal gear behind. Cheaper then locking biners and better then rapping with the rope around the tree, or with the rope directly on cordelette, nylon or webbing, - you can rig a rappel with one of these. You'll be on your way back to the ground and hopefully be around to climb another day. These are for bailing only, if you are planning to set up a permenant rappel station, please use the stainless steel rings which are heavy duty and are meant for repeated lowerings.

"Great for emergency use" 10/19/09

Feels beefier than I expected give nthe "not for repeated lowering" warning but nevertheless this is more of a cheaper than a bail biner accessory type thing than a thing for fixed rap stations or slacklines. Steel is way better for that, but obviously not for carrying around all the time.

"Great product" 06/16/08

This is a great product and it is lighter than the SMC. As we all know oz=lbs and lbs=pain. I used it to rig a quick release chest strap for my pack. I never had to use it, but the system works well and it can also be used as a chest harness to keep you upright if you fall in a crevasse.

"You may never have to use it, but get one in case." 05/23/08

It is wise to have at least one of these on your rack at all times, and light enough to have even have to think about it. Really small and super strong, don't leave home without it.

"Stay alive" 08/28/07

In the past, I'd just use a runner to bail out of a climb over my head. Don't make that mistake as you can generate enough friction heat to cut through your runner. Use an inexpensive Omega Pacific Rappel ring and stay alive. These have a half-life of just a few rappels. Always read the manufacturer's instructions. 20kN minimum breaking strength ...20kN = 4,496 pounds

"At least it wasn't a more crucial piece of gear" 07/12/07

I have not yet recieved this item. The rest of my order came last week but these rings are still MIA. Was planning on using them over the weekend but, No Dice. They are not here and The Moose has my Casholoa Peace
