Oval carabiners are a real technological challenge. Because of its shape, the load is shared equally between the spine and gate sides of the carabiner, which typically results in lower strength ratings. The Omega Pacific Oval Bright Carabiner features their exclusive ISO Cold Forging process, enabling them to compensate by shifting material and putting aluminum where it needs to be to reinforce the frame. At 22 kN Omega Pacific has one of the strongest oval carabiners on the market, 4 kN higher than ovals from other leading brands.

  • Gate Opening: 15 mm / 0.591"
  • Major-Axis Strength: 22 kN
  • Gate Open Strength: 6 kN
  • Minor-Axis Strength: 8 kN
  • Weight: 65 grams / 2.3 oz
  • Length: 107.7 mm / 4.42"
  • Width: 57.7 mm / 2.27"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good biner, but nothing special This carabiner does merely the basic stuff a carabiner is supposed to do. However that doesn't mean it's bad, in fact it is pretty good (at doing the basic stuff). I choose these ovals over BD's due to the 4kN extra strength. They are easy to manage and the gate opens and closes smoothly, with good tension on it. The downside is that it does have a hook nose, so it can snag on the gear loops of the harness or slings a bit, but it isn't a huge deal for me. I am satisfied with what I got for the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are AWESOME carabiners. I bought two of these, and then I bought 4 more, and I have no idea how many I have now. These come in handy all of the time whether it be for accessories, setting up a slackline, or around the house. They're cheap so i'm not worried about trashing them, but it doesn't matter because it's hard to trash them anyways. Bombproof. Buy 10 because you'll use them eventually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy but good for my intentions I'm only using these for a primitive slack line set up. I wouldn't use these for climbing because they are heavy/bulky and not something I'd want to ever use for climbing unless I was setting up a toprope system, and even then I would want locking biners. These are great for the slackline set up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done. There isn't much to say, it's a great carabiner that gets the job done. A little on the heavy side if you are a super lightweight kinda guy, but if you're going to spend 6.50 on a carabiner, you are going to get the basic stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good carabiner! Well-built for carabiner. Will not work for load-bearing, because it is non-locking. I use for accessories. Light-weight aluminium. Good brand...great product.
