The Oboz Men's Sawtooth Low Shoe is an aggressive hiking shoe for mixed terrain trails. The Sawtooth Low is all about the outsole, with it's directional and sidewall lugs that grip into the mud, dirt, or rocky terrain to propel you further along the trail. The nubuck leather and high abrasion-resistant textile with 3D molded heel counter protect your foot from debris while allowing air to pass through. The BFit Deluxe insole provides soft comfort underfoot as you tack on the miles. Lace up and sink in.

The Sawtooth is a good, but not great, shoeIn comparison to the Sawtooth from a couple years ago, the toebox, while quite roomy, is slightly smaller and more narrow. This is a plus as the older model was overly wide which caused sliding and, consequently, hot spots when hiking down hill. The insole has been replaced with Oboz's Bfit Deluxe, which is a cheap throwaway insole that is only slightly better than the basic Bfit insole. Mesh has been increased, which should increase breathability. The shoe is not quite as comfortable out of the box as the original, but still acceptable. In terms of color, get the Pewter; trust me. All in all, a god but not great shoe that is better suited to everyday use than trail use due to lack of cushioning and slightly loose fit.

Rock solid hiking shoeA great do everything shoe. Great traction on a shoe that you can hike all day in without ever thinking about your feet. Second pair, handed my first pair down to my son.
