The Oboz Men's Firebrand II Shoe is a waterproof hiker for tackling damp 14er's before dinner. The Firebrand II begins with the Oboz BDry waterproof/breathable membrane, keeping your toes dry as you tromp through a muddy trail, a touch of snow at the peak and all while remaining breathable so your feet don't overheat. The durable upper is comprised of nubuck leather and abrasion-resistant textile that will protect against dirt, pebbles, sticks and more. The dual density EVA midsole with nylon shank provides solid support as you blaze up the mountain. The bottoms are finished with the Sawtooth outsole for traction on changing terrain and sidewall lugs that will grip uneven trail.

so close, one big flawi got these boots after problems with blisters and fit on my last few pairs. they are very comfortable and i have gone on quite a few blister free trips, so i would like to say these are the best hiking shoes ive ever had. unfortunately the bottom on these shoes so not grip well when it is wet out. I have fallen a few times and even called oboz. They said it was probably a manufacturing defect or something and told me to try a wire brush and alcohol on the soles. it might have helped some but still the sole doesnt feel right. so close to being an awesome shoe, but a shoe that doesnt grip well at all is a pretty big flaw.

Good shoe.Tad stiff out of the box but loosens up quickly. Haven't experienced slippery sole as read about in other reviews. Gripped well to wet rocks, grass, logs and everything else trails can toss your way. Will see if they last at least one season...
