"Quality specs for anything, really." 06/10/11
I've had these for a while, they're in an older color (clear-ish brown?) and they've been absolutely awesome. Lightweight frames that don't bother you and quality lenses result in great all around sunglasses. I'm not sure how the black holds up, but mine have been quite durable. The whole item is 5 pieces, 3 for the frame and 2 lenses. If you get hit in the face with a frisbee, I speak from experience, something on the glasses may pop-off but I assure you it'll pop right back on. These are great, as is almost any pair Oakley puts out!
"Only brand of sunglasses to buy!" 04/06/11
I own many pairs of Oakley sunglasses and will never buy another brand of sunglasses. I have the glossy black frame in this model and they block sun well. Never have to use the sun visor in the car. As with all the Oakley's I own they are very light-weight and comfortable. You usually never even notice you're wearing them. Great glasses!
"Trendy yet completely 100% quality Oakley!" 02/02/11
I have been a fan of Oakley sunglasses since my high school days (late 80's/early 90s - can you say Frogskins?). I must admit that I absolutely am in love with these Gascan sunglasses. A fellow softball coach had a limited edition pair with the American Flag where the silver "O" is on the side. I am all about being patriotic, but I decided to stick with the standard ones you see above. What I really like about these glasses is that they have a comfortable feel at both the bridge of the nose and above the ears. They are large, but not "bulky" in my view. Larger sunglasses are certainly "in" and Oakley has stepped up with that trend. I highly recommend these Oakley sunglasses!
"Head Turning Shades" 01/09/11
The Oakley Gascans are packed with style while simultaneously staying true to the Oakley standards of performance. I've owned five pairs of Oakleys and I always find myself throwing these babies on when I want some shades. The Gascans look and feel great, not to mention turn heads no matter where you are. The lenses are very clear and I've had no problems with them after over two years. However, as far as Oakleys go, I would not consider the Gascans "sports" sunglasses. They dont really have any sporty features and there are better offerings from Oakley in that category. Very stylish though.
"Best Shades I have owned thus far" 11/07/10
Throughout the years I have owned a variety of sunglasses some of which include Spy's, Dragon's, and Oakley's, and these are my favorite. I have the matte black pair and they are light and nearly indestructible. I was soloing a bluff right outside my home town when these bad boys slipped off my face and proceeded to fall nearly 18 feet to the forest floor. No problem whatsoever.
"Super durable, but..." 11/06/10
Don't get me wrong. They're good sunglasses, but sweet baby jesus, are these things hot in the summer time. Like sweating eyeballs hot. Don't run in them, or play golf, or do anything aerobic, or climb. Not entirely sure they are worth the cost. Sho' are pretty though.
"great sunglasses good price" 07/07/10
i own both these and the oil rigs, enjoy the way they fit and look of them, the only downside is that over time the arm started becoming loose and wobbles but from what i put them through,im still impressed with the durability, ill always have a pair of oakley's in some form or another
"I liked 'em so much I bought 'em again" 02/23/10
I had the original black Gascans (gloss black) and lost them on the beach. They lasted me over a year with only minor scratches, so when I went shopping for a new pair, I got the flat black Gascans with polarized lenses. They're sitting on my head right now. And I look good in them.
"Great Sunglasses" 12/17/09
Tried on about a hundred pair before settling on these. For this pair, I was looking for something durable. They've been sat on, carried off by the kids, fallen off multiple times, and generally abused. They've fit the bill perfectly and show surprisingly little wear.
"I'd like the Gascan S better" 10/25/09
These sunglasses are the best I have ever owned, they're very durable! I'm looking to buy another pair but I tried on the Gascan S and I liked the fit of those better because they're not as loose as the ones I currently own.
"Thought I broke them twice...but didn't" 07/31/09
I've had my Gas Cans for a while now. Two years I believe. Throughout this time, my glasses and I have had our ups and downs. They have shielded my eyes from the sun's harmful rays day in and day out. I've worn them on the beach, while snowboarding, and all times in between. I say downs because I've worn them while playing some sports too, and they've been knocked off my face and the arm has come off. Now when I say it came off, I don't mean by some casual swipe at my face. Don't worry about durability. And luckily, all you have to do is pop the arm right back on and it's like nothing ever happened. Oakley makes a darn fine pair of sunglasses, if you ask me. Get them.
