It's a great product and I highly recommend it!If you have any wool hiking socks or baselayers, or both, you owe it to your gear to try Nikwax Wool Wash. This product is great! We have been using Wool Wash for two years and just ordered more. Nikwax Wool Wash will clean your wool gear, make it feel even softer and leave it with a nice clean smell - but will not weaken the wool properties. We use it on our merino wool hiking socks, merino wool baselayers, and we even wash my wife's premium merino wool sweaters with it instead of sending them to the dry cleaner.

Liquid GoldWith some of my wool clothes I made the mistake of washing them with my regular clothes. After a couple of them started to lose their soft texture. I looked at the maintenance tags and it said to use this stuff. Using the Nikwax wash on my merino wool socks and baselayers has them as soft as the day I bought them. I will never use regular wash again. If you own nice wool products then you owe it to yourself to use this stuff to keep it in great condition.

Haven't noticed a difference from other productsMaybe I'm just not observant enough, but I can't really tell the difference between washing my clothes with this and say Woolite. I ran my socks and other base layer wool clothing with this and didn't feel the need to pick up another bottle of this wool wash.
