"If I am going fast and light but want to bring shelter, the Nemo Meta 1 Person Tent is what I use. Just stake it out and shove one trekking pole in and you have your very own tepee. It's a tent you can set up, which is way better than that coccoon feeling you get in a bivy. For the light structure of the tent it is incredibly sturdy too. One night it shed over an inch of rain and a ton of wind to accompany it, all without much flex and not a drop leakage. By the way, it also packs down to about the size of a US size 9 hiking boot."

"Roomy 1p Tent" 01/29/12
I have spent about 15 nights in this Tent over the last 2 years. For Tent camping you can't get much lighter than this. I love this tent. It has enormous room inside and out. At 100" long you have ample room to stash gear inside. The side entry is perfect to ease of entry/exit without having to step over gear stashed either at the end inside or in the vestibule. I suggest you guy out the ends to avoid sagging. Being a single wall tent you will experience some condensation at times (when it's not windy and when relative humidity is high) but it's never been a big deal. If you are trying to cut weight but not quite ready for Tarp camping then this Tent is an stellar option.
"Excellent, compact product..." 04/23/11
This single person tent is incredibly lightweight and packs down well. It comes with tent stakes, cords, and a decent compression sack. The Meta is posted using a trekking pole--not included but available through Moosejaw. I can't say as to whether or not this is an advantage to air frames, but it's certainly novel and sort of stripped and rugged.
