"Exellent screen tarp"...We purchased this screen tarp for camping trips in The Smoky Mountains, where the bugs are sure to reek havoc on your picnic, or evening casual time. Setup wasn't too bad, but we actually purchased 2 tarp poles from Nemo, and used them on the taller ends. We felt this gave it more height, as we couldn't tie it high enough to the nearby trees. My only small gripe is the 3 zippered corners are time consuming to open and close. I think a "quick catch magnet" closure might be faster. And if i could change anything, I would make the netting about one foot longer all around to add a little height. I will say, we withstood 2 major thunderstorms with heavy rain, and the tarp material is top shelf. We highly recommend buying one, if you're a car camper who likes shade and no bugs. Note: We had many inquiry's on this tent from people walking by, maybe because there's nothing else like it on the market, or maybe its because the color of the tent cover absolutely ROCKS!!.. The cool thing about the color, is that it seems to be a little brighter underneath the tent, just before dark.(almost glows)... Cool...

HmmmmmI own original Morph Tent, Transform Tarp, Pentalite Tent with all accessories, 2 Sleeping Pads, Pillow and Helo Shower all from Nemo. Great products. Just received 12x12 Bug Out: I'm throughly bummed to say the least. Not about the quality but about advertising and design. The screen mesh is tapered on corners opposite the zippers. So the height at those corners is only about 41/2 feet. Wasted head room. That is not what I was told when I inquired. Bought it for Elk hunting for kitchen area. Which starts in a week. I get that was not what it was designed for however know where does it tell you the mesh is tapered. That taper decreases flexibility in my view. For what it's worth. I view Nemo as top rate. This one product leaves me scrambling for a alternative. Chuck

Love love love love this shelter!Nemo Scores Again! I can't say enough good about this shelter. On a recent buggy Boundary Waters trip the Bugout MADE our time completely tolerable for cooking, hanging out, and enjoying the wilderness instead of hiding out in our tents. Highly recommend for paddle-based trips in buggy territory.

The Trip SaverNo one piece of gear has had a bigger impact on my enjoyment of camping than the Nemo Bugout 12x12. It has earned the nickname "The Trip Saver" and comes with me on pretty much every trip into the backcountry (that isn't an ultralight trip). In fact, it goes on more camping trips than I do, as all my friends borrow it whenever they go camping. Here's why: rain and bugs each have the potential to ruin a camping trip. You can do all the planning you want, but you can't control bugs or the weather (at least I hope you can't). But if you have the Bugout with you, you'll at least be able to relax in a rain/bug free environment. On a recent stormy campout at Lake Michigan, we had 8 people hanging out under it. If we didn't have the Bugout with us, we would have all been in our individual tents, cursing our bad luck. It's easy enough to set up, and has three zippers on each of the two doors, so you can even run a hammock straight through it while still keeping out the bugs.

Good for family~Really nice product. My children and wife hate bugs So I bought this. ,,They love this bugout tent. ,,but need to roll up mesh for hot summer or need an air circulator.
What length/height poles would you need if you did not have two trees to string the tarp between? Thanks!

Trekking poles would likely work fine for the two lower corners as suggested by NEMO. However they would be far too short for the main (taller) corners of this screened tarp that are normally tied off to trees.
