"Great Outside and in Town" 03/31/12
Outside: Just the right side to carry what you might need for hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing etc. If my wife and I are out or even traveling, it holds water or thermos, raincoats, a camera etc, without being too bulky. In town: When I head to a coffeeshop to work or read, I carry this. Just the perfect size to fit a regular sized notebook, a few books.Front pocket is big and the inside one is great for pens, pencils, small tools, etc. I've had one for a number of years now. I use it regularly and have taken it through all kinds of conditions and it holds up great. Highly recommend it.
"Never wearing a back pack again..." 06/14/11
A friend of mine had one last fall on a multi-day camping trip in NH. It was the perfect size for the side trails we hit. I had to have one... Mine made the trek overseas on a two week journey through Italy. I've since taken it on several day hikes and one extended trip. It's the perfect size for all the essentials. I bought the optional shoulder straps which make the bag quite a bit more versatile depending on the amount of stuff I'm carrying. Overall... great bag! Never carry a day pack again...
"Use it almost every day!!!" 04/16/11
In the winter i ski with it when not OB. in the summer it carries my disc golf discs and what little i need for work....and always has enough room for what i need ALL THE TIME. These packs are TOUGH! Keep your eye on it though, i have already replaced mine TWICE!! JERKS!!! You know who you are, though you arent reading this, cuz you have MY pack and dont need to buy one. Being able to go from lumbar to shoulder to a combo of both...ideal!! sick little pack, and if you have the right gear/conditions, you can camp out of it for a couple nights.
"The greatest little bag ever." 02/07/11
It holds WAY more than you think it does. It is perfect if you have friends that need stuff held and you are the one with a bag. They think they are inconveniences but little do they know that HA you love holding their stuff. YOU have a mountainsmith. Good for you! use it to walk in the woods, need to rest? makes a great pillow. People will be so jealous. HA!
"What a solid bag/fanny." 12/26/10
This bag is so solid. Its great to take on both short and long day hikes. It holds everything from my large water bottles to even a small laptop walking around campus. I can pack in multiple things and either use the comfortable waist strap or, my favorite, the shoulder strap. Awesome pack for the hiker or the outdoorsy student.
"This is the BOM-BEE DAWG!!!" 12/04/10
This thing is unbelievably handy...organizer pockets for your feminine side, but doesn't look like a purse, tough as nails, 2 bottle bockets, holds 2 fleece jackets and still has room! I attach mine to my main pack to carry stuff I need to access quick. From day hikes to amusement parks with the family, this bag does it all!! FYI-buy the Mountainsmith strapettes-they make it even MORE awesome!!
"Great for a day hike" 07/11/10
I love this pack. It has just enough room for a day hike. You can easily fit 2 nalgenes, some snacks and a a light jacket in it and still have some room to spare. The straps on the front make it easy to strap a jacket on the outside too if you want to. It is really durable too. I've had mine almost 4 years and it has no tears, no seams coming apart, nothing. Overall, I have no complaints from it. I have both it and larger Day and both have worked out wonderfully.
"Brilliant" 04/06/10
I love this lumbar pack. I think having it around the house makes my girlfriend jealous, but I don't care. It hugs me better than she does, and it will carry more stuff than she does too. It's light enough you can throw it in a backpack for those side trip and it doesn't suck like the crappy backpack lid lumbar-pack-wanna-be's. My red one turned pink from years of use, but I don't care. I heard pink is the new black anyways.
"Great bag for every day use and more" 10/20/09
After seeing a buddy of mine with this bag, and my unwaranted obsession with bags with attitude, I thought to myself in that voice of the lady from Napoleon Dynamite..."I Want That." So I got it. And let me tell you. This bag is great for carrying around books, camera's, extra sets of clothes...all in one. It fits comfortably on the shoulder and the waist belt is really handy when riding a bike or outrunning a cougar. Total props to Mountainsmith for making a bag that looks good, feels good and makes use of recycled products.
"Buy This Bag!" 05/11/09
I love this pack, it's incredibly useful so spacious. Not only do I use it for hiking, but it's great for everyday use as well. I can throw everything in there from my cell phone, keys, books, whatever! Not to mention it looks fabulous too!
