"Great for the price"  03/22/12

I've never owned my own pair of trekking poles before this pair, but I've used many others and finally broke down and bought my own. These poles are great, they collapse and extend easily and hold up really well. I'm currently using them to keep my balance across uneven lava fields as part of my work and completed some intense backpacking over the past weekend in Volcanoes National Park. One thing to note is that the ends of the poles do get eaten up by lava fairly quickly, but I have yet to find anything, from boots to car tires to my pants, that doesn't. Otherwise, no complaints!

"Buy it!"  04/26/11

I picked up these poles via my Moosejaw rewards points (thanks Moosejaw!) as an extra set of poles for friends and guests. I've taken them on 2 hikes around the Santa Cruz mountains and tried w/out luck to get them to break! These bad boys give a full range of adjust-ability from 26" -> 54" and weigh in a bit on the heavy side at 1 lbs 11 ounces. With the wide range of adjustments I can get these compact enough for my 9 year old son to use! Highly recommend these as a backup set or for first time/budget conscious hikers!

"Excellent value"  04/14/11

This is the first pair of poles that I've bought. I never thought that I'd use poles, because it's just one more thing to carry and keep track of, right? But the price was right, so I got these.I've used them on short (3-5 mile) dayhikes carrying 30-40 pounds (my giant 1 1/2-year-old) and they really improve my stability, as well as giving me an opportunity to work my upper body and take some stress off my knees.I have had no durability problems and the locking mechanism works easily and quickly. I'm very happy I bought them. With the prices of other poles ($70-100+), it's really a no-brainer.

"Good stuff for the price"  01/26/11

For he price you really can't get any better. These aren't the best poles out there but if you looking to do some day hikes or even a few days I'd feel comfortable with these on the trail. I don't think I would try to complete the AT with them, then again I'm a long way off from doing that with the best gear anyway.

"Worth it for the price"  12/09/10

I bought these because the price was so competitive. I was sure I would see a lack in quality, but I was totally wrong. These are strong, light-weight and really easy to use. I'm glad I saved the money and went with this brand. Well worth it.

"Great value!"  05/14/10

These poles are awesome and what a good deal, about $40 with a coupon. These guys are loaded with features and are really durable. My wife and I beat them up pretty good and they are still rock solid.

"Couldn't break 'em!"  10/12/08

Just used these on the Kokoda Trail in New Guinea. We trekked 115 KM in 10 days with 18KG packs and these poles were flogged every day up and down mountains, rocks, mud, you name it and they came out great. The construction is in three parts, which shrinks shorter. The straps could be a little wider,if you are really going to be putting some weight on them as they were needed when going up 1:2 grades. The jungle baskets were a good size for the really muddy bits. I regularly put the poles out front and 'swung' over obstacles and I weigh 95Kg and they were OK.An excellent pole for the price.

"get these poles"  06/01/08

i got these poles for Christmas and i've used them many times since then. i love how they break down. perfect size and they fit right in on my poles loops on the back of my pack. the carbide tips dig right into anything. shorten them up for steep incline hikes.
