"bad news"  03/01/12

borrowed these poles from a friend for a super low-key afternoon of xc skiing. whacked my boot with the pole to dislodge some snow and the pole splintered in half and the basket end went flying. while i suppose this is not their intended usage per se, i feel like if you're going to pay this price for these poles...they probably ought to stand up to this level of stress. oh, and this was the first time they'd ever been used... boooo

"Go with a bigger name for trekking poles for better quality."  10/12/07

If you are shelling out 100 for poles, I would go with a company that really does trekking poles. I decided to choose these poles on a whim and it came back to bite me. After less than 2 weeks of use, the tips were worn down to numbs and one of the springs broke due to a loose screw. The handles aren't anything special and the poles are decent construction.
