DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfy!! Out of all the long hiking pants I've owned, these fit perfectly. They are slightly more padded around the waistband and upper pants, and fit true to size, both in leg and waist. They don't dig in at all around the waist like some other brands, sit well under a harness, and feel like they will take a beating in the outdoors and not get snagged on the slightest rough surface. These will make great pants for travelling on long-distance trains and planes, hiking (although haven't tested their ability to cool me down in hot subtropical weather), and have so much stretch in them for climbing that I didn't notice them at all while climbing. The only down side is that they're made of that material that is incredibly noisy, which is fun to wear with my noisy softshell... but most of the time I don't notice that. Best pants ever!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from length is off I have a slate gray pair, size 4 short that fit a bit on the loose side but are ok in the length, this pair in a different color, way too long. Waist is comfortable, somewhat adjustable due to tie, soft against skin. Fabric is durable with just enough stretch to be comfortable when you bend, twist or climb. No wrinkles after a long plane flight, able to wear long underwear under them during end of January cold temperatures in Paris and Rome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice pants, but only one pocket The description for these pants says it has side cargo pockets (plural), and the picture shows two pockets, but they really only have one, so I am sending them back. They also run big - according to Mountain Hardware's size guide, I should be in between a size 6 and an 8. I ordered these pants in size 6 - they are too big in the hips. For a few dollars more, MooseJaw also sells an older version of the Yuma pants (if they are not sold out yet) which actually have both pockets. I think that is the only difference. Anyway, I ending up keeping a pair of the older, two-pocketed version, in a size 4, and I love those. Super stretchy, perfect fit, comfortable adjustable waistband. I thought I would miss having hand pockets, but I really don't. The zip side pockets are way better because you can dig stuff out of them when you are seat-belted into your car without becoming a contortionist - like your wallet when you have to pay for parking. So they are useful for every day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pants used to have two cargo pockets I love the Yuma pant. I only like the newer version. Where is the second cargo pocket? I need both pockets. The photo shows both. They need to update. It's very disappointing to think you are going to get the same thing you have bought it the past and loved only to get a lesser version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These pants are great and super comfortable! I love these pants! Of all the Mountain Hardwear pants I own these are my favorite. I am really tall, 6 foot, and these pants come in size tall which is great. the length is perfect! For any kind of outdoor activity these will be my go-to pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are great. They fit to size and I love the length. The stretch material is super comfortable. Pants only have one pocket, not two like the picture. Love the fit and feel, very comfortable yet looks good too. I requested the black, but got a brown pair.
