"You can't be cold in this jacket."
          12/04/09
This is like a sleeping bag that you can wear around. I am one of those people who is always cold whether it's 50 degrees or -10, and as soon as I put this on, I'm warm. The inside is soft and comfy, and pockets are just right. The coat is pretty puffy, but it doesn't make you look like the michelin man. My only complaint is that the zipper could be higher quality and is sometimes hard to catch.

"If you want to be warm with no layering guess work involved...BUY THIS JACKET."
          03/23/09
So I've had an Mountain Hardware Sub Zero since 2002...it was my first winter jacket ever (I'm from Florida) and I've never looked back. My first one just got too tattered, worn and stained so I had to spring for another one. The quality has gone up and the zippers are MUCH better than the ones from the earlier version. The jacket just gives you the warmth that only down can, and the fit is nice. It does run a bit big I think. I'm 5'5'' and I needed an extra small. I tried a ton of other jackets before settling on getting another Sub Zero. So pleased with my purchase.

"Keeps you warm, what more do you want?"
          03/12/09
This is the warmest, most comfortable jacket ive ever had. Not much more to say... did i mention warm? and comfortable? This jacket is serious. But also totally wearable around town. The hood is amazing, and wraps around your face for when you need extra protection.

"good jacket"
          11/14/08
This jacket is really warm. I can wear this and a T-shirt in cold weather and still sweat. It might be to warm for avid sports, but great for walking to class in cold Utah weather.

"If being cold is a concern then get this coat!"
          10/19/08
So I live out in the wilderness literally for up to 12 days in a row with only a tarp to sleep under. temps are -15 deg. to 15 deg. I am completely warm while wearing this jacket in all conditions (repels water and snow). Some added pluses!: The pockets have a fuzzy lining that warms the hands. The zippers are durable!! Haven't broken over constant use for two years. The hood is fluffy and thick and the velcro mouth cover. Its nice to have protection from the wind. There is a synch on the bottom of the jacket that helps keep in warmth.

"Best parka out there at any price"
          02/29/08
I live dowtown Chicago with no car, so am out in the elements a lot. After exhausting research on parkas, I bought this one. This is an engineering miracle! Huge, roomy pockets that can accomodate the puffiest gloves, snug-ties both at the waist back and at the hem, longer in the back to cover the tush, roomy, and light as a feather. Wore it out today at 30 degrees with a howling wind over just a tee-shirt, and was toasty warm! Every element of this parka was well-thought out - can't think of a single thing I would change. Definately up the the most brutal Chicago winters - wish I had it years ago.

"i would choose this jacket over any EMS or Northface jacket as i think it offers innovative features"
          01/21/08
this jacket is great for folks who are looking for many years of use and overall quality. sure, you'll pay more up front, but this jacket will outlast your best vasque shoes the ones made in italy and china, that is. i got the flare color and just love it as it looks sexy on a dark-headed gal. the jacket is soooo warm that i sometimes let down the zipper in 20-30 degree weather while walking my dogs around the block. the hood is a great fit on one's head and you can tighten the straps to make it truly snuggly. the only downside to this jacket is that the zipper is not easy to engage and when you finally get it up, it seems tight around my neck area. i can live with both downsides as i

"Best jacket I've had!"
          12/21/07
This jacket is a great buy! It really keeps me warm and it's not to big and beefy like some down jackets can be. In Norway it's usually about -10 degrees celcius in winter have no clue what that equals in F, but it's cold! and I have not yet felt cold. So far I've only used it when taking long walks with my dog and to and from work, but I can imagine it's good for skiing and other activities as well. By the way, this jacket is about 650 in Norway, so I'm very pleased to have bought it at Moosejaw! Wish the sleeves and the jacket could have been just a little longer though.
