"Warmest Down I've Ever Owned" 12/27/11
This coat isn't going to make you look skinny...but you're what ever sized bum will stay very warm! After 9 years of daily winter (Colorado & Wyoming length) I finally wore it out and bought another one exactly like it. To my shock not one single thing had been changed in all of those years...it's rare when they didn't find things to add or change. The only con, and it is a big one, is that the zipper is a pain to start and sometimes no matter how hard you try it just won't start. That happened with both of mine plus my boyfriend's coat. I recommend getting the SL Hooded Version, it is much warmer than the other styles.
"WARM and lots of pockets" 11/27/11
I took this coat up Kilimanjaro and it kept me warm even on summit day. You look like a marshmellow when you put it on but it isn't all that heavy to carry and the pockets are nice and deep. The inside pockets were particularly helpful to carry water and food to keep it from freezing. I love this coat and can't wait to climb another mountain with it so I won't be shivering all the way to the top.
"Cheap and plenty warm for its price" 10/20/11
Mountain Hardwear stuff is generally too boxy for me (im a slim GUY) so i went with the women's M and it fitted much better. The amount of down which is stuffed into this thing is awesome, as is the zip-off hood (down jackets should always come with a hood imo). Only negative is that it packs down rather large, about 2 litres. But other than that, everything is great!
"Warm, Light, Packs Down" 01/14/11
Great Jacket. I have used it both when at camp / on breaks while backcountry skiing and while shoveling my driveway in upstate NY. Works great in all conditions. A few times I wore it while there was wet snow coming down and the down stayed dry thanks to the Conduit SL. It packs down pretty small, even smaller with an additional compression sack, but make sure to only pack it down when needed to make the loft last longer. I have washed it a few times in a front loader machine and still works great. Truthfully, I would trust this jacket to keep me warm in any condition!
"Must Buy!!!" 01/09/11
I got one jacket last year from your Men's collection and its kept me warm all thru the winter last year including the 4 storms! I got this jacket for my wife and she loves it. I got 2 more for my mom n aunt. Its just one jacket and you are all set for the winter. You dont have to layer or wear multiple sweaters and jackets. The cap is designed such that it covers your neck and part of your face and is ideal when shovelling the snow.
"AMAZING" 12/10/10
This is the most amazing jacket ever invented. I am always cold but when I put this jacket on I am almost warm instantly :) I got a size small which fits me perfectly! My ONLY complaint about this jacket is it could be a little longer in the back. If needed (which is most likely not) you could even put layers underneath and the jacket still fits great! I highly enjoy this jacket and dont think I could make it through an Alaska winter without it!
"AMAZING" 12/10/10
This jacket is the most amazing thing ever invented. I bought it knowing I was moving to Alaska because I am always cold! When its 60F I will be complaining that im cold just as much as when its below 0F. I put this jacket on and I am warm almost instantly! No need for 5 layers like always (although they do fit fine under this jacket its not needed). I almost always wear a size small and dont think im gonna grow much so I got a size small and it fits great. Could be a little bit longer in the back though. It can get a little warm during activities. I get alot of people walking by saying under their breath 'thats a nice jacket" I laugh and say "Ya. I know."
"AMAZING" 12/10/10
I bought this jacket when I knew I would be moving to Anchorage, AK because I am ALWAYS cold. This jacket is literally the most amazing thing ever invented. I wear it with a t-shirt underneath in 0F and Im warm. My only complaint is it could be a bit longer to cover my behind because that tends to get cold :) But other than that I get hot strolling through the park with a tanktop and baselayer on. Its a good fitting jacket to layer. I wear a size small almost always and a small still fits great with 5 layers on underneath (I've tried). I get alot of people that walk by and whisper under their breath "thats a nice jacket!" It makes me laugh and say "Ya, I know."
"The best jacket for the money!" 11/21/10
I bought this for my PERMANENTLY cold wife (the only time she wasn't cold was in Mexico in 95 degree weather), and she has no complaints about it! It is always warm, looks good (yes its a puffy jacket, but not Stay-Puft marshallow puffy!) and stays reasonably clean. Its water resistance is another big plus- we have had some rain, but she stays dry. Now I need to find a Men's version! She has a small and it fits perfectly (she wears 4-6 size clothes- and now she is going to kill me for putting that on the net), even with two layers (shirt and sweater) on underneath.
"You can't be cold in this jacket." 12/04/09
This is like a sleeping bag that you can wear around. I am one of those people who is always cold whether it's 50 degrees or -10, and as soon as I put this on, I'm warm. The inside is soft and comfy, and pockets are just right. The coat is pretty puffy, but it doesn't make you look like the michelin man. My only complaint is that the zipper could be higher quality and is sometimes hard to catch.
"If you want to be warm with no layering guess work involved...BUY THIS JACKET." 03/23/09
So I've had an Mountain Hardware Sub Zero since 2002...it was my first winter jacket ever (I'm from Florida) and I've never looked back. My first one just got too tattered, worn and stained so I had to spring for another one. The quality has gone up and the zippers are MUCH better than the ones from the earlier version. The jacket just gives you the warmth that only down can, and the fit is nice. It does run a bit big I think. I'm 5'5'' and I needed an extra small. I tried a ton of other jackets before settling on getting another Sub Zero. So pleased with my purchase.
