"Lightweight, sized right, good grip!" 04/19/11
Tried these on 2 recent mountaineering trips where my hands were in the snow 12-13hrs/day- They performed better than my OR shell mittens (liners underneath) and kept my hands nice and toasty. Better grip around the top of my axe and sized right for a woman. I have the hands of an 8 year old and the smalls fit me perfect. If you want a liner glove in there too definitely size up. Only complaint is that they are a little tricky to put on- Took some effort, especially with cold hands. Velcro wrap at the top is a nice touch. I'd wear these again for setting up camp or hiking when the snow isn't hella deep. If you're swimming to break trail you'll want something that comes up a little higher.
