"Reunited at last! :)" 04/11/12
I purchased this jacket a in 2010 and lost it in February 2012. :( I have been agonizing over the loss of my favorite jacket. It was absolutely the most wonderful jacket in my collection. It was lightweight but warm not to mention stylish for a down jacket! The lining provides a cozy feel. Miss my MH downtown jacket. I only hope it found an appreciative new owner. Absolutely loved this jacket so much I had to replace it! Feel lucky to have found a replacement on Moosejaw!
"Super soft, squishy & stuffable! But still pulls out of the bag with no wrinkles!" 02/22/12
My husband got this for me for christmas (tired of me wearing older, larger mens down coats) and I LOVE IT! Super soft, very warm, and when you are inside, take off the coat, stuff it in the sack and it makes a great back support! When you are ready to go, pull it back out and wear away, no wrinkles, no problems. Feathers do push out, but any down coat does that from my experience. Only complaint, no hood, so I had to get a hat. Oh well, just means more shopping!
"Super Warm and Looks Good!" 01/15/12
This jacket is so warm! Being from a warm weather place and living in a cold place, it is perfect! It has recently been really windy where I am living and my upper body stayed very warm. Very comfortable and the design makes me feel like I'm not a huge marshmallow. True to size and fits great but for people with long torsos and long arms, might be a little on the short side.
"Better than TNF" 03/23/11
I came set on buying a north face nuptse jacket, but im happy i didn't! after reading the reviews for this jacket, they said this was better than the north face down jacket. I would have to agree. up in the pacific north west, this jacket is perfect! it works great under a shell, or over a hoodie. another reason i chose this over the nupste jacket, was the pattern of the stitching was not those awful horizontal lines. the stitching on this jacket is much more broken, and does not give you the "michelin man" vibe. overall a winner!!
"Beautiful, super sweet jacket!" 03/04/11
Usually I am not a fan of down jackets. I mean don't get me wrong...who doesn't love the cushy goodness of down? But looking like the Michelin Man? Not. So. Much. The feminine cut and the wacky direction of the baffles work in concert to make for a relatively flattering fit. But enough of that...the inside...OY! So fuzzy and warm, I often get the "take your coat off and stay awhile" because I just want to keep it on all the time. This is a fantastic fit and I'm glad I decided on this versus the NF Nuptse.
"Super comfy and warm!" 12/19/10
Got this as a gift for my girlfriend who was perpetually cold. It has a stylish fit and the lining is ridiculously soft and cozy. Shes much warmer now and still every bit as cute. She loves it and so will you
"Buy this!" 10/13/10
Super lofty, comfy and warm, yet still stylish. TNF down jackets might be warm, but they can be so ugly. The fuzzy lining completes the package. Throw this into your sleeping back stuff sack to save on room and use it as a super warm layer when you are hanging at base camp. Looks good around town too!
"Cute Jacket, but Not For Me" 07/15/10
I LOVE the Mountain Hardware Downtown Vest, so I assumed I'd love the jacket as well. I'm 5'9", slim build and first ordered a medium, but it was too big in the torso. I returned it for a small, but the arms were too short and the shoulders looked weird (due to the design?). I do not have very broad shoulders, so it may have looked better on someone who does, but bottom line, it just didn't do it for me.
"Not Your Average Down Jacket!" 01/14/10
I have always been a huge fan of Mountain Hardware. I have two MH Downtown vests and decided to get the Downtown Jacket. It is so stylish and sexy... perfect for a walk and daily activities. I am 5'10" and originally ordered the small (that's what size my vests are), but the arms were too short so I exchanged it for a Medium, which is perfect! The jacket is really warm and the stitching distinguishes it from all the other down jackets on the market. It's fleece lined and that just makes it all the more comfortable. Also, it packs really small for travel and can double as a pillow in the car or on a plane. Thanks Moosejaw!
"This coat is AMAZING!" 12/12/09
Almost every Mountain Hardwear product I've owned has been incredible, and this coat is no exception. It's extremely warm, and not all that bulky. The way that the coat is baffled keeps it stylish and flattering, and there's fuzzy warm fabric in all the right spots (around the neck, in the pockets) to keep it from being itchy/slippery. Stuffs down to a very compact size as well, so I can wear it in the mornings when it's really cold and then stuff it in my backpack later in the day when things heat up. Great jacket!
