"Like your own personal furnace" 04/27/12
This jacket is A-MAZ-ING. I'd always bought the department store jackets before that weight about 15 pounds and don't keep you that warm and finally invested in this super warm down coat after moving to Chicago. I was skeptical about how warm it would be after arriving in a super tiny box, but after being out and about in downtown Chicago, I actually had to unzip the coat at times because I was so toasty. Beware though if you have long arms, I originally ordered an extra small with my average size being a zero, and the arms are cut a little short so I moved up to a small. Other than that this coat will be your best friend out in the snow.

. . no joke. By far the BEST coat out in the market as I own many many many. I also have the shorter version of this. The inside of this coat is especially the BESTpart. So padded, soft and molding. You will pick this up every time you go out. I live in Buffalo, and wore it in 9 degree F weather. It kept me so warm and comfortable. Trust me, you will not be disappointed it. True to size. LOVE LOVE . . worth every little cent. I loved it so much I had to buy both the long and short version. I feel like I'm neglecting the other 30 coats I own in my closet! Moooooooosejaw rocks!!!! Getting ready to use my REWARD points for some FREE stuff : )
"Warm and not bulky." 12/27/11
This coat is the perfect length (I'm 5'9" 140) and it keeps me so warm on long walks to and from class and the parking lots. The temps can be around 10 - 20 degrees with winds up to 30mph and I'm toasty warm in this coat. It's not bulky at all and stores away nicely when I'm not using it in the summer, fall, and spring. The pockets are nice and warm too if you don't have gloves on. So glad I purchased this coat. LOVE IT!
"Very thin" 12/27/11
I did love the jacket, but it's very thin. Thinnest down jacket I have seen-- regardless of fill warmth/weight.While the details are great - removable (by a zipper) hood and faux fur collar, wrist cuffs inside of the sleeves, great pockets, etc., the thinness makes it not worth the money.I found it to be much longer than I anticipated, as well. Almost calf length. I am 5'6" and 125 lbs...I bought a medium.I agree with other reviews saying the sleeves/arms are short.
"Amazing Warm Winter Jacket" 04/05/11
I got this coat for my girlfriend for Christmas. She loved it... got the black, but the brown also looked nice. She said she absolutely loves it and the down filling is warm and squishy. The length of the jacket is perfect for her (she's 5'2"). She's also not into fur, so it's really nice that the fur (and hood) are removable. According to her, it's a great and stylish winter jacket for wearing around town or to winter activities. Her only complaint is that it isn't as puffy as the picture made it look, and that she wishes it had a think fleece lining, especially down the arms.

This coat is extremely fashionable (cuz we gotta look good even when it's cold).For a puffy coat, it has a tailored look.I bought a small (5'5", 125lbs, athletic build) and I was nervous about how it would fit after reading comments.Turns out it fits perfectly! It hits me 2 inches above the knee. Sleeve length turned out to be perfect (others have said they seemed short). No thumbholes, but there is a nice elastic wristband.It is so light and fluffy, and I love the fact that the liner is fleece around the midsection (and the pockets are fleece-lined, too!) My only negative is with the color.I bought the espresso color cuz in the pic it looks more gold/taupe than brown. It's definitely brown.

"Awesome jacket" 01/18/11
I needed something really warm for walking to work, stylish , and light enough to walk through the mall without weighing me down. This is it. I've product tested this for 2 months through one of the snowiest winters in Canada that we've seen in awhile. I Love this coat! Pros: light and packable loft, fashionable,long enough to cover butt,nice feminine styling make you look svelte not puffyCons: the hood is bulky, the fleece lining is nice but is only on mid body. sizing fits small, especially chest / hips. In really cold weather you need to wear a fleece or something under it's not warm enough on it's own. some of the down fluff has come out, I think this is normal with down
"Great Coat - minor tweaks" 01/04/11
As others have mentioned - this is a great coat. Also as others have mentioned. NO thumb loops which was a major selling point. However, when you go on Mountain Hardware's website - they don't mention thumb loops int he description so this might be a Moosejaw error (sorry Moosejaw). I love how warm the coat is and I love the hood. If I could make some minor tweaks - I would love for the coat to be about 1 inch longer. I wanted the coat to cut just above my knee and it is really mid thigh. I am 5'6" as a reference. Also I would love for the coat to be a bit more tapered around the waist to provide contour and style. Otherwise I love it and love the color.
"Great coat, allllmost perfect" 12/01/10
A great coat - very lightweight for its warmth. There are a few tweaks I'd make to make it my favorite winter coat, The waist is tapered nicely but the bottom billows out a bit. It doesn't fit as snugly as an Adidas coat I have of a similar length. Further, there are no thumb loops, as others have noted. I agree that the fleece lining is very nice, and it would be great if it were located in a greater percentage of the interior. The coat looks fantastic on. I couldn't ask for more from that perspective. The neck fits snugly, but the hood is not adjustable. Just something to note.
"Love this coat" 10/06/10
I bought this coat last year and it was definitely a worthwhile investment. It's very warm, super light weight, and has a very light fleece lining to make it feel snuggly soft. The major downside is that it's not waterproof. I thought the white was beautiful but given that it's not waterproof, I thought it would end up a disaster so a black coat it was. It doesn't give you the most flattering womanly contours though.
