MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! Just bought this bad boy, and I couldn't be happier. Shopped around the local stores, to get a feel for it. Read the reviews online and just had to have it. I do a lot of cold weather camping and this bag is perfect for those chilly nights in my hammock.

Is this bag okay for backpacking? I know 3 lbs is pretty heavy for a backpacking bag, but has anyone tried it?

Asked by: Jordan
Hiya Jordan, thanks for your question! This sleeping bag is on the heavy side for backpacking, however, it might work for you if you are not using a sleeping pad and/or are only hiking for a few hours per day. A hiker's "sleep system" should total around 3 pounds total. A lightweight sleep system includes a sleeping bag that is 2 pounds or lighter and a pad under or about 1 pound. If you want a lighter sleeping bag, you might want to consider one that is down-filled. That said, some hikers are perfectly comfortable with a 4 or 5 pound bag, depending on the rest of the gear he or she is carrying. Hope this helps!
