The Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Tent has been the winter mountaineering standard in shelters for over a decade, constantly being refined and detailed over the years. The guaranteed waterproof construction of the Trango Tent includes a fully taped fly and perimeter seam with welded corners and guy clip anchors, and has been rain room tested for 24 hours with 1200 inches of rain. Using the Atlas Scandium XL poles combined with the four-pole design and Propriety Evolution Tension Arch, the Trango 2 person tent excels in even the toughest conditions. The reflective guy-out loops, starter point, and zipper pulls make for easy set-up at night. Mountain Hardwear uses Pitch Light configuration on this 2 person tent to allow the user to set up a super-light, warmer weather shelter using only the tent fly, poles, and footprint pieces without the Trango tent itself. Many high-quality features are added to the Trango tent series, including 2 dry entry vestibules, 2 dual canopy and mesh doors, SVX window for brighter interior and exterior visibility, welded guy clip anchors, watertight, reflective door zippers, and interior mesh storage pockets. The Mountain Hardwear Trango 2 Tent has been the top choice for winter camping, especially in harsh alpine climates, for over ten years, and is guaranteed to keep you safe and warm when you need complete protection from the elements.

"Amazing rain and snow tent, not always for the windy alpine." 10/06/11
The Trango 2 is a great size for 2-3 people to live out of in the backcountry (2 for serious mountaineering). However, I have seen poles on this tent snap in both the Chugach and Patagonia, where there are admittedly some hefty winds. I bought my latest Trango last winter, and it didn't even survive the entire Patagonian season, with several poles breaking in bombproof setup conditions (full snow wall, internally stabilized, guyed, etc.) I was underwhelmed. But, MH and Moosejaw replaced the poles and rainfly. Excellent customer service for your money. The tent itself is amazing. It's completely waterproof, even under weeks of Pacific rain. It's a great tent, just bring extra poles!
"In rain or shine... or blizzard?" 09/06/11
This guy has been with me up at the top of many CO 14ers in the heart of winter and has yet to fail me. The perfect tent and even a bit roomy for a 2 man. It is a nice, warm, cozy tent and it has always protected me against the elements. The best tent I have ever owned, used, or seen in my life. A little bit of moisture may build up (esp if packed with 2 maybe even 3). But it isn't a problem.
"Absolutely Love it!" 07/06/11
This tent is the best I have ever owned, I really love the design even though it is a bit on the bulkier side of things, this tent will definitely keep you protected and dry. The materials are excellent and the vestibule adds enough space to keep your dog out of the elements without compromising the floor of the tent! I would recommend buying the footprint to go along with this product. The Trango 2 is just another example of the quality and user-friendliness of Mountain Hardwear. Bottom line, if you are looking for a great tent to keep you dry and happy while climbing from the Rockies to the Caucuses, this is the tent to buy!
"WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH" 04/15/11
I can write all day about how awesome this tent is but until you experience it for yourself words are not enough. If you want to stay warm when its cold (I mean really cold) and you want to stay dry when its downpouring…this is the tent you need. The mountain hardwear trango tent is above all and the price isn't that bad considering what you are getting…quality!
"Very best 4 season/Winter tent I have ever tried, and I have tries several" 02/04/11
No...no one can have my Trango 2 tent. Easy set up, sturdy in the worst of conditions from high winds, deep snow, wind driven sideways rain. I have used my Trango2 in winds you could barely walk in. Ever hear of the winds on Grandfather Mountain in NC? Of course you have and my Trango2, has been there done that. It's never let me get wet in the rain or blown away in the wind or fell down from snow on it. I'm not sure a starving bear could get in this tent. Well, maybe but he can't have it either!
"Best 4 season tent I have tried and I have tried several Mountain Hardwear rocks!" 02/04/11
I have used my Trango 2 for years and have never had a complaint. Well, I did lose all the poles once off of my backpack, but who's fault was that?I've used in very high wind, lots of snow, driving wind driven sideways rain and have actually used in bearable weather too. It's never blown away in the wind, fell down in the snow or let me get wet in the rain.I use it as a one person and all my gear tent.(except for food which is always bear bagged)There's room for me and all my gear and room to waller around in my sleep which I always do. Bottom line....I love my Trango 2 and no one else can have it! For any price....well maybe enough to buy 2 new ones...
"Great tent!" 12/08/10
Got this for mountaineering and winter camping. Love the room! as for build, top notch! Have no complaints what so ever. For those concerned about size, a true two person tent minus the gear, which can be stored in the vetibule.
"A great tent!!!!" 10/08/10
Mountain hardwear will never dissapoint youthis tent is very easy to build up, even for only one person. It great for two but can put another one inside and it will be ok toothe abside in the front is very useful especially when storms hit youyou can use the footprint and the roof without the body of the tent and it works great tooand you can buy separetly the snow anchors, a great solution for winter trips!
