"Perfect" 08/29/11
I've had this bag for a while and have been on a few trips with it. It's been super.I think 30 degrees is the best all around temperature for a sleeping bag. So 35 has been great. My favorite feature is the "switch" feature. It gives you that little bit of extra room on a warm night. It also cools it down a few degrees so it's great temperature control.I have also enjoyed how it zips up at the feet if you want drafts on hot nights.I've been out for two pretty cold trips. On the one I was fine. I could see my breath a little. It was maybe just under 40 degrees. The other time it was about 30 and I was the only one in the tent without a sleeping pad. It was a little chilly on my knees.
"Great bag for what it's designed for" 03/20/11
Great bag that kept me warm down to 30. It does pack bigger than others but it packs down to the size advertised. No complaints there. This is not an ultra light bag. I will say if you are 6'0 you will need to get the long or have to shave your head to fit. The expandable option is great if you like to sleep on your side or cool off without venting the bag.
"I've been everywhere man" 12/04/10
I think Johnny Cash used this bag when he wrote that song about crossin deserts and breathing mountain air. Like the guy below said, this bag isn't tiny, but I don't think its too big at all. It stick true to the 35° rating, a couple nights in the Boundary Waters late October with temps in the 20s made me realize I should've brought a different bag, but that is the only time I've thought about complaining. Spring to Fall this bag has taken me to the mountains and the desert, and is gonna keep on going. And it doesn't smell yet! 6'0" get a long for sure.
"Great --- except its pretty big" 12/05/09
The Switch 35 definitely keeps you warm. You could be naked, and the temperature be freezing and it keeps you warm. But that's only if you can fit it into your pack along with everything else of yours. Everything about this sleeping bag is amazing, except for the size, i think it packs down to like a 7x15. I'm not ENTIRELY sure, but its pretty big, and if you're a serious backpacker, i would not recommend it. but just for like overnight camps, its great.
