"Lightweight, Packable, Good to 32 Degrees as Advertised" 05/05/12
I purchased this as my first down bag and immediately put it through the passes on a late April fishing trip in Michigan. It was 25 degrees the first night and 35 the second. I found myself shivering a bit on the first night but ultra comfy the second. The bag is very lightweight for the price and (accurate) temperature reading. They accomplished this without sacrificing comfort, as I found the bag roomy and well fitting. (I'm 6'3" and bought the long version.) The bag met all and exceeded some expectations, especially so for the price range. A good buy in my opinion.
"Great 3 season bag" 08/08/11
I was looking for a bag to carry with me on long backpacking trips Spring thru Fall and I found it! I love the pack size and weight of this bag, It gets down to a little more than the size of a large nalgene! A huge upgrade from they synthetic bag I was using. Paired with a good sleeping pad I've been warm each night. I'm 6'1" and athletic build, the bag fits me tight with just enough room to use the zipper, no empty space in the bag for cold air to settle in! The shell of the bag is durable and found care for the down bag not as difficult as I thought it would be. Overall, a great bag that gets the job done..
"Best 2nd bag you want in your closet." 07/26/11
I've enjoyed the Phantom on a couple hot summer trips in the desert but I also find myself looking forward to using in the winter....when I need to crash on the floor or a friend's house. Obviously its a warm-weather bag, but it also breathes well and feels cool because of the lightweight nylon. Furthermore, it is roomy in the hips and the toe box so it isn't a problem to roll over at night. Only downside, I'd say, is the short zipper. It saves weight but it would also be nice to open it up and use it as a blanket or pad on the hottest days.
"Well made, well designed 32' bag" 09/19/10
bought this bag for motorcycle camping. Not much room on the Harley and this bag stuffs down to the size of a one pound coffee can. Rating is very accurate as it has kept me warm (in undies) to slightly below this temp. Thought about the 15' bag, but the odds of me camping when it's that cold are nil. The 32' bag is fine for temps to about 55" by unzipping it to let some air in. I'd be sweltering in the 15' bag. Durable, light, and comfortable. But DON'T get it wet... it doesn't like water, but it's down after all.My only complaint would be that it was only offered in a right hand zip when I bought it. A little awkward to unzip but other than that, highly recommended....
"A well made, ultra compact bag" 09/19/10
Bought this bag to use for motorcycle camping. Not a whole lot of room on the Harley, this bag stuffs down to the size of a one pound coffee can. The 32' rating seems accurate as it has always kept me warm at or slightly below this temp. I thought about the 15' bag, but the chance of my camping when it's that cold is slim to none. This one is perfect. My only complaint was that when I bought my bag, it only came in a right hand zip. A little awkward for me to unzip but not that big a deal. Keep it dry though, it is down after all and doesn't like water.A well made, well designed bag that works perfectly for what it is meant to do.....
