The Mountain Hardwear Optic 3.5 Tent is a three season tent with extra space for three persons on the trail. The dual doors are located adjacent to one another, providing a wide view of the hills, trees, or mountainside nearby. The roomier floor space provides a slice of extra distance between you and your buddies, or if you’re just two, an area for gear. Gear can also be stored within the dual vestibules. The 20D Poly Knit Mesh canopy helps keep weight down as well as provide air flow. Fall asleep while watching the stars through the mesh or hunker down under the rain fly when the clouds turn grey.

MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So happy with this tent! I'd been considering this tent and the 2.5 version for a few months before finally picking up the 3.5. I like to have a bit of extra room inside the tent to sleep comfortably without kicking the tent wall or elbowing my boyfriend in the face, so the 2.5 would've been too small. The extra weight and size compared to the 2.5 wasn't too bad on the short hike to our camp after we split up the body and poles. I read a few reviews about the pockets inside the tent giving plenty of space for gear so I didn't bother with a gear loft. The reviews were right - I didn't need one. Naturally, it was raining when we got to camp. Setup was quick and super easy even in the rain. The tent kept us dry... for the most part. The two vestibules kept our gear perfectly dry, but unzipping the fly door - not even all the way open - let rain fall straight down into the tent and onto my sleeping bag. It wasn't a big deal since I use a synthetic bag and it was a warm summer night, but it was annoying. To be honest it is possible that the fly wasn't positioned perfectly because we were in a rush, but it is worth mentioning. The gap between the bottom of the fly and the ground created a nice vent to keep the tent from getting stuffy or hot, and the following day there was no condensation inside our tent, so I was pleased. Once the rain stopped the next day we got to enjoy the 180* view of Lake Huron.
