"Exceptional performance and incredibly light in weight"
I purchased this jacket for a recent winter overnight on Mt. Washington NH. Wind reached 129 mph on the Lyons Head with -63 wind chill. Jacket worked better than expected, felt no wind and stayed warm with Patagonia Piton base layer and Mountain Hardware Monkey man fleece. I never needed to add the down jacket I was carrying. Sizing runs small based on my other Mountain Hardware gear, usually wear a medium, needed a large.
"Good fit, great features, okay waterproofing."
So this jacket got me through seven straight stormy days on California's Lost Coast. After that trip, and staying dry and warm for 99% of the time, I realized how awesome this jacket is. It fit well and allowed me to layer appropriately. The pockets are high enough for me to access with a waist-belt on. The hood fits well enough, though the pull-chords always confuse me. But all that being said, I had to re-waterproof this jacket after eleven months. I am a very agressive user, so this lifespan is probably atypical, but still, I would have expected a more durable waterproofing for $400+
