"Its great soft shell jacket . water proof , wind resistant , bottom line awesome ." 11/29/11
This jacket is awesome , very warm , great for cold rainy days . The pull string on the neck keeps rain and snow out . There are two chest pockets , one inside and a waterproof on the outside . I tested the waterproofing by pouring water all over it and leaving my friends in awe while the water slicked away . Overall incredible jacket .
"If you need a spring, fall, or mild winter jacket then you just found it!" 09/16/11
Wore this jacket in 40 degree weather and was incredibly warm while I could feel the cold permeating my other articles of clothing. The insulated cuffs are amazing at blocking drafts from creaping up the jacket, keeping your arms nice and toasty. I am confident this jacket will keep me warmthroughout the 30s and into the 20s. This jacket also has a great athletic cut which helps the jacket from flapping around or letting drafts come up your back.
"Tough rugged and bullet proof" 08/11/11
Got this for my son last year and he has been happy with it in the rain and even down to temps in the teens with a a light fleece under it. I like it because he is a teenager and hasn't destroyed yet and it looks new for being a year old.
"To bad it is discontinued. Best Softshell for Wind Protection EVER!" 08/07/11
This jacket is amazing. The sleeves have a nice "cuff" on the inside to protect against wind and the collar can be cinched down to lock in heat. When it gets warm, just unzip the alpine pockets and it cools down quickly. It is very rugged and foolproof. I have the black/titanium color and love it!
"Great jacket" 06/02/11
Awesome jacket. I'm 5'11'' and about 220lbs, I tried the L and it was a touch tight at the waist so I went for the XL. It's a touch long in the sleeves but it's a much better length in the body...its a good fit overall. I don't think this jacket would do well on tall skinny guys... too boxy, but for people with a bit more girth like myself, you won't find a better soft-shell for the price. Excellent build quality as you would expect from MHW.

"this Softshell is the way to go !" 05/09/11
MH has excelent gear, and this is no exception. This is a bomber jacket that will take anything you throw at it, its perfect for just kicking around and also perfect to take it to the mountains!!! this will withstand the winds, mild rains and snow - no problem there. One thing that i really enjoyed were the handcuffs with added fleece, so no wind gets in through your wrists into the arm. This is perfect for climbing, as this is a usual spot where the wind would get in through my jacket. I've used this jacket as an outer layer for climbing, and i really enjoy the fit and how it performs.Great softshell by MH, if you are looking for a great soft shell, look no further !
"Borderline flawless" 04/16/11
Positives: Renders wind irrelevant and is all but waterproof. Pocket vents and high neck zip = perfect for huge range of temperatures. Breathable, moves well, pleasantly snug cut, very stylish.Negatives: Sleeve openings are not adjustable, and my plus sized paws barely fit through. Could be slightly heavier... honestly, I'm grasping at straws here.Overall, I strongly recommend this soft shell for active use in chilly weather. Sub freezing temperatures require a good base layering scheme. I've used my Alchemy for temps between 20 and 60 degrees, wearing anything from a t-shirt to a heavy base + fleece underneath. I've never been happier with an outer layer purchase.
"Really is almost wind proof" 03/14/11
I've mostly worn this jacket in central OH, which is very windy most of the time. With wind chills bringing the temperature down 20 degrees or more, this jacket blocks it out great! It usually leaves my hands and face freezing though, making me appreciate the windstopping technology even more. I haven't gotten a chance to climb in it yet, but have been very impressed with its range of motion.
"Amazing Soft Shell That Keeps Out the Wind!" 02/27/11
This jacket is very warm even in the low 30s. I usually wear it with just one layer underneath. The jacket is slimmer and more form-fitting than a lot of other jackets, so if you plan on doing a lot of layering underneath, then consider sizing up one. The length of the jacket is shorter than most jackets and definitely does not go below the waist. The Windstopper technology blocks out practically all wind, but also seems quite breathable. The jacket also stands up well against rain, and seems waterproof. The soft shell has good large side pockets and also has neat sleeve cuffs that are found on a lot of Mountain Hardwear jackets.
