"Awesome wind resistance, great looks" 11/20/12
As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear...this jacket has not disappointed! Performs excellent in even strong wind, retains core warmth. It is not a parka, but works great as an aerobic solo jacket, or as a mid-layer in brutal cold. Breathability is excellent, but no pit zips. Perfect sleeve and torso length. Cuff fits tight, but could be bad if you have large wrists. Pockets good for casual wear, not as good if wearing a pack. Bit of extra room in the chest, but it's minor in the scheme of things. After years of consistent use, it has literally zero signs of wear and has held up great. Overall I would highly recommend this jacket!
"My Go To Winter Coat" 09/17/12
This has become my go to everyday winter coat. The windstopper fabric is thin but does a great job keeping the wind off. It is good down to the mid-20s before I need to throw on a shell. The chest pocket works good for holding chapstick and keysThe downside is it isn't waterproof and will get wet in rain or wet snow.I am 5'11" and 180lbs and a large fits good.As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of Gore-tex products for the purpose of product review and recommendation. I do receive items from Gore for these purposes.
"This is my goto jacket!" 09/12/12
I've had this jacket for three yeas or so and wear it nearly everyday during the fall, winter and spring. Even after three years, it still sheds light rain (even though it's not waterproof, but water resistant). On chilly mornings I throw on a fleece and put this on over it and I'm ready for my ride to work, the wind blocker technology really works! On the weekends or when I'm at work (I work year round in the coast range of Oregon) this is my go to jacket. As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of their products for the purpose of product review and recommendation. "Windproof, Warm, and Stylish" 07/12/12
This would be a perfect soft shell jacket if not for one drawback, the cuffs try to choke my wrists into submission every time I put it on. I thought maybe I could stretch them out overtime, but they are still crazy tight. Getting it on and off is quite the sight, but once it's on it's game over for wind and poor fashion.I need to declare that I am a member of the Gore Mountaintechs product testing program, which means I sometimes have the privilege of testing Gore-Tex and Windstopper products. Regardless, this jacket is one of my favorites. One day I hope to stretch the cuffs out enough to have the perfection that was meant to be.
"Great Jacket, But Hate The Cuffs" 07/10/12
Despite one annoying flaw, this is a great jacket. It's reasonably water-resistant for a soft-shell, warm (sometimes a little TOO warm), and cut close enough that it's not in the way while climbing. It's totally windproof, which is maybe the best feature of the whole thing. That one flaw? The internal fleece cuffs are so tight that I can't pull them past my watch! That means I have to take my watch off every time I take the jacket off or leave it inside the sleeve where it's no help. My review of this product is in no way influenced by the fact that I'm in the Gore MountainTechs product testing program. I'd say the same if I weren't...
"Overall a solid jacket with great Windstopper barrier" 07/06/12
As a member of the Gore Mountaintechs community, I have had the opportunity to test numerous jackets. While I think Mountain Hardware did an overall good job with this jacket, there are a few items that warrant consideration for a potential buyer. One, the sizing is a bit small, so if you are planning to layer underneath, you may want to bump up a size. Secondly, there are no pit-zips, so if you plan on wearing it in the early season, you may want to reconsider if you typically tend to get warm. It has held up well to many days in the field, and the Windstopper lining is great as always.
"This is the perfect all around jacket" 06/10/12
Full disclosure, I am a GOREtm MOUNTAIN TECHtm member. I have owned this jacket now for about 1 year, and it is pretty much the jacket that I wear 90% of the time while outdoors in the winter. Its not to heavy, yet keeps you warm, and is very comfortable. Also, the outer material is tough! I have tried to abuse this jacket, and still no rips or tears. Its sizing for me is perfect. I am 6'1 190 lbs, and have a large...fits like a glove. It has thick fleece around the cuffs which helps keep the wind out, but can feel a little tight, especially if you have a watch or something on. Overall, outstanding jacket..highly recommended.

"Its great soft shell jacket . water proof , wind resistant , bottom line awesome ." 11/29/11
This jacket is awesome , very warm , great for cold rainy days . The pull string on the neck keeps rain and snow out . There are two chest pockets , one inside and a waterproof on the outside . I tested the waterproofing by pouring water all over it and leaving my friends in awe while the water slicked away . Overall incredible jacket .
"If you need a spring, fall, or mild winter jacket then you just found it!" 09/16/11
Wore this jacket in 40 degree weather and was incredibly warm while I could feel the cold permeating my other articles of clothing. The insulated cuffs are amazing at blocking drafts from creaping up the jacket, keeping your arms nice and toasty. I am confident this jacket will keep me warmthroughout the 30s and into the 20s. This jacket also has a great athletic cut which helps the jacket from flapping around or letting drafts come up your back.
"Tough rugged and bullet proof" 08/11/11
Got this for my son last year and he has been happy with it in the rain and even down to temps in the teens with a a light fleece under it. I like it because he is a teenager and hasn't destroyed yet and it looks new for being a year old.
