"Great pant let down by it's cut (for me anyways)..."
The pants are almost great, but are let down by a simple but crucial detail. Rewind 3 years,I had a pair of EMS pants that I wore for everything, from a thru-hike of the PCT to a couple weeks in India. I went looking for their replacement when the crotch ripped out (again), and settled on the MH Topout pant. I'm 6'1" around 185 lbs, tall and fairly thin. Pants arrived and I was stoked, out of the package they looked great, the material had generous stretch, felt good (thick enough to insulate but thin enough to wear out), and had ripstop crosshatching. Excellent. I tried the pants on. Immediately took them off and checked the tag to make sure I hadn't been shipped the womens version. The waist runs true to size, length is perfect, but the cut on the thighs is tight. Call it "trendy" if you want. On me it looks like a womens pant, tight on the thighs, flares past the knees. The Topout had everything I was looking for and would have had a winner if they hadn't gone for the trendy cut.
