"Exactly what I was looking for..." 02/18/13
Ended with 2 pairs! Am 5'7",31" inseam, and a 29/30" waist. Size S Reg rocks! Don’t have to hike up the legs to squat down--they just stretch and fit. I can go through briars, slide down rocks, with no issues. I have two crazy dogs that run through trails, rolling in mud, water, and probably dead stuff. Then they kindly put that all over my legs too. Yet once it dries, it all just brushes or falls off. Amazing. They do well in a drizzle, but not a deluge. The waist stays flat and comfortable, even with a belt. The side zipper side pocket kicks butt hanging onto small valuables like a pocket knife, debit card, or pet rock. A bit warm past 75F on a hike; thick, heavy-ish but durable.
"Supple, Warm and Durable!" 04/29/12
Whenever the temps are low and I need a pair of pants that do not restrict movement, I take the Pieros with me. I sport climb, boulder, ride mountain bikes and even wear these as casual pants for a night on the town! These pants also kept me warm during December while at Hueco Tanks over in El Paso, TX. If you are looking for colder weather climbing pants The Piero is the best choice!
"Best Pants Ever" 01/25/12
Just bought myself another pair (different colour) as my grey ones have been fantastic for the last 18 months. Great stretch, take an absolute beating, clean so easily - you can really use them for any activity and they also just look cool as a casual pant. True to stated size in my opinion. If your size is left - you should buy them now.
"Friggin' awesome pants!" 12/03/11
Ok, I haven't tore these pants up yet, and thats an impressive fact! I do a lot of caving, and have ripped up a lot of pants and jeans. I can say I truly love these pants. They fit so comfortably and look great. I hike through brush and briers, climb, crawl, drag myself across rocks while caving, as well as through mud. At the end of the day they look rough, but one wash and they look brand new! So, basically these pants are indestructible, and fashionable ;)!! They fit true to size, and for me (5' 11") I love the length of the regulars. I haven't kayaked yet in these, but id imagine they'd be good for that too! These are a must buy pant, wether you need them or not buy them!
"These have to be the best pants I own!" 06/20/11
These are by far the best pants you will ever purchase. I am a 32x32 and the fit was true and great (I have had trouble with mountain hardware pants fitting right). The material is soft and stretchy and the extra crotch material makes these pants have awesome mobility!I was surprised how warm these pants were, I was thinking they would be like wearing a pair of jeans, but I felt like i was overheating when it was about 68 degrees outside...not a bad thing, just warmer than i expected. The only thing that I don't like about them is they have a quiet swish to them...nothing annoying, but not completely quiet. Thanks moosejaw!
"Awesome pants, just not fireproof" 04/11/11
These are awesome! The Piero can take a whip on granite, slide down slab, and boulder in Bishop. They just don't rip! The gusseted crotch is roomy enough for whatever kind of move you're pulling off. They are even stylish enough to take them out for the night (even if your gf might not approve). But they are not fireproof. In JTree last year, a single random ember touched the pant leg near the cuff and melted a hole in them! I was devastated, but patched it up quickly with some gorilla tape. I've even taken them to Laos. Nothing else compares!
"Craggin in style." 02/08/11
The Mt Hardwear Piero pants have quickly become my favorite cragging pants bar none. The articulated knees and gusseted crotch allow plenty of freedom of movement during climbing sessions outdoors, at our local climbing gym as well as at yoga class. Tough nylon fabric helps keep wall rash to a minimum. Plenty of pockets to stow stuff. Chalk bag loop is a bit dubious but no big deal.
"Word Up" 11/09/10
Nice pants. Nylon, but stretchy. The waist and pockets are VERY soft. The front two belt loops, instead of going straight down, they angle in a little, making me look just a little thinner. I'm sure my tush looks great, too. I bought two pairs, and they both fit exactly the same, so they are built with consistency. The seam across the thigh looks cool, but makes the pants a little less comfortable than they could be.
"Awesome Technical Pants" 09/03/10
Sleek design. Love these pants. Have them in both colors. They have several useful pockets built inside of the pants so nothing is hanging off like typical cargo pants. They are warm so more of a fall winter pant. Great for climbing and adventuring, but look so good you could go from the crag to the club with a mild dust off. Have I mentioned I love these pants.
"Greatest Pants Ever" 09/03/10
These pantaloons do everything. They are made from burly material, and stretch like sweat pants. They are perfect for climbing, hiking, canoeing, french kissing, and generally making my butt look fabulous. They are pricey, but worth every penny. Lots of pockets, but not too big or obvious that they make you look like a human swiss army knife. I've only had them a few weeks, but I've been wearing them every day, and they seem to be holding up nicely, and the fabric seems bomber. Also the DWR is great! Makes spilling beer on yourself at the bar much less embarassing.
