"Tough, yet soft and stretchy" 01/29/11
I love this fabric. It is tough, stretchy, and a little soft. Even though the fabric is thick, it is highly breathable while still being water resistant. I also like the fit of the jacket and how it looks. As for hiking and activities, the jacket is quite heavy and doesn't pack down well. Also I do not like the wrist straps because they are large and the velcro pulls out the seams. These cons are definitely out weighed by the pros, so I would recommend it.
"Worked for its needs" 01/07/10
When Returning home for leave from Iraq I wanted a civilian jacket to wear with civilian clothes, it being winter time and a bit colder in WA than in Baghdad. It kept the cold wet Northwest air at bay long enough to get into the car and it was just enough of a Jacket to use while running trails back home. The only thing I would have liked it to be was a little warmer and a bit more water proof. But I don't think that was the purpose of this jaclet.
"Excellent Value" 11/02/09
Love the jacket. Great pockets & zippers. LOVE the drawcord at the neck to lock in warmth. Very stretchy. Blocks wind pretty well, but I've found the need for a layer underneath with temps below mid-40s. Breathes well, and water resistant. Size large is snug with 43 inch chest, but nice athletic fit.
"a must buy" 11/02/09

The cut, weight, simplicity, and functionality make this piece one of my best. As a guide, retailer, and public consumer the garment has kept me safe and comfortable in endeavors that range from telemark, climbing, kayaking, and dog sledding expeditions, back to the theater and board meetings. Hardware has perfected a garment that meets the needs of the urban jungle with the needs of outdoor world. Nice Job Guys....BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
"Great all purpose shell with fleece lined pockets" 09/16/09
I picked up the Black in medium. I'm 5'10, ~155lbs.Fit is true to size, enough room to wear a fleece zip-up under it during colder weather.Sheds rain pretty well, have not tested in total downpour, although I don't think it was designed for that. This shell is not lined with anything, but it works perfectly paired to one of MHW microchill fleeces, or TNF TKA 100 zip-ups.It's a well thought out jacket, blocks the wind, can be worn on it's own on warmer rainy days.Cons: the cuffs are really wide. although it does have valcro adjusters, I can't imagine a use for such wide cuffs.Pros: sturdy construction, napoleon pocket, and fleece lined hand warmer pockets.
