The Mountain Hardwear Men's Mountain Tech Jacket is a fleece jacket with softshell reinforcements for windy backpacking adventures. The Mountain Tech is a durable jacket for battling your way through the woods and mountains, built from a combination of AirShield™ fleece and Deflection® soft shell. The polyester fabrics block wind and resist a light rain while allowing for enough breathability so you don't overheat as you work up a sweat hiking from camp to camp. The jacket even has pit zips for extra venting straight to your sweaty armpits. The high front pockets steer clear of your pack straps while still allowing you to utilize them for map and compass. The horizontal chest pocket secures smaller items like a snack bar or lip balm, which won't fall out when you forget to zip it shut. All bets are off if you're hanging upside down though.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Jacket for Outerwear This jacket is pretty terrific! The windproof and waterproof claims are as true as can be, even for being thin and with fleece. This jacket is very comfortable to wear around, even when running. I am an avid running who goes out at least five days a week and this jacket doesn't limit you at all when it comes to going out. It has zippers on the sides and slightly up the arms that allow for plenty of ventilation if you get too hot! Mind that I am in Michigan, so I truly know the cold and snow that comes around. So far, this jacket has been able to do everything. Yes, you will need an under-layer when it gets really cold, but this jacket is great for everything between 30 and fifty!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for brisk days in the NW I love this jacket! It looks great, feels great and is warm. On cold days it provides good warmth and keeps the wind out. It gets warm quickly and the pit zips come in handy for venting. I like to crack the vents a little bit when it is mild outside. It does well on wet days too. The water beads up nicely. I would highly recommend this jacket. ,,,,I am 6'2" and 210 and got the XL and it fits great. I can't layer tons under it but you don't really need to. A shirt and thin fleece would probably be the most you would want under it and you may overheat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket, cuffs? I love this jacket. It has INCREDIBLE wind resistance, but the cuffs @ the wrists are easily frayed. They seem to stretch out really easily too. I like the location of the pockets too because it allows you to somewhat rest your arms while they are in the pockets. You have to experience it to get it. It is excellent for layering too. your can put a base layer under it and then a shell on top of it and you still feel relatively free to move easily. Mountain Hardwear is never disappoints and if their is a problem, their customer service is awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Jacket I bought this when I weighed a bit more and it fit great (6 ft 190 lbs, bought a Large). I've since lost weight, and it's a bit wide on me now and feels slightly short. Odd consequence for losing weight, right?,,,,Performance wise, it works great. Keeps wind at bay and does a good job at keepings you warm. It's surprisingly thin, comfy, and looks stylish. Like I said before, the sizing can be a little odd, and it also attracts a lot of dog hair, but those are about the only cons. Good jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket made! You will definately need to order one size up on this jacket! My old mountain tech jacket (which is 4 years old) was ordered in a large so I thought a large would work in this style. Mountain hardware must have changed their sizing as the large was too tight so I had to exchange for XL. Otherwise, this is a great jacket and is perfect for fall and winter weather down south. Highly recommend and the styling is the best on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket, Great Price. Love it! I researched this jacket online and Moosejaw's price was great. It is a very comfortable, technical piece of clothing. For me, it fits true to size and has great handwarmer pockets, accessible with a backpack on. I love the pit zips for venting. I can't wait to test it in some wind. Highly functional and looks great. The quality of Mountain Hardwear is very evident

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket that will last years! The hubs LOVES this jacket! He has been wearing various iterations of it since it came out years and years ago. It's light and comfortable. The jacket cuts the wind, rather than allows you to feel every breeze through the fleece. Although it is not technically waterproof, it does not "soak up" the snow. Highly recommended to anyone looking for quality that will last!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight shell with great wind resistance I usually wear this as an outer layer while hiking when the conditions get a bit rough. The windstopper fabric truly blocks out any wind, helping to keep your core warm. The soft shell panels help give the jacket a more durable feel and some extra weather resistance. My only gripe is the jacket seems a bit short and rides up at times, otherwise the fit is great
