"Get it!" 04/23/11
Super and awesome. This jacket helped me stay warm at Tuckerman's! It may have been April but the compressor's presence was more than welcome, it was howling like a mad dog. Nicely built (noticing a trend in that sector from MHW) with tons of loft, even as a partly-recycled synthetic, and has plenty of pockets. 2 chest pockets, one inside/one out, plus each side pocket! Also very lightweight, the silky smooth face fabric feels delicate yet has not let me down by ripping. Hood is gnarlemagne, huge and always asking for more hair. Fit = definitely roomy, I'm 5'8" 135 lbs and medium is plenty big for me and a few friends of mine called layers. All in all - it keeps me warm and I like!
"Versitile and Very Cozy" 03/06/11
I bought this jacket several months ago, and I find myself constantly using it. I took it snow camping, and the large pockets inside were great for holding water bottles close to my body. It does not come with a stuff sack, but it compresses down extremely well for backpacking or climbing. It's not extremely warm, but it layers well to compensate, and it blocks wind very well. The jacket kept me warm even though it got pretty soaked-but it was nearly completely dry in about an hour of being inside! The jacket is well built, but the fabric is fairly sensitive and can develop holes easily. The ripstop seems to work well, but this is not a jacket to go bushwhacking in!
