"Solid all around Jacket" 11/26/11
I used this Jacket every weekend in the White Mountains of New Hampshire pretty much every weekend last ice climbing season, and was never cold, nor wet. The only improvement I could think of you be to cut back on the jacket's slight bulkiness, but I suppose that's the nature of this beast. I really like the two huge "secret pockets" on the inside for personal belongings. They are big enough that I could fit my Nalgene inside the jacket to prevent it from freezing. The powder skirt is also highly effective, so when glissading, you never need to worry about a frozen hiney!Overall, I feel pretty bulletproof in this jacket.
"I finally found the right parka!" 08/14/11
The Exposure II Parka is a definite fav of mine. It's roomy enough for layers without being uncomfortable. I'm 6'1" and weigh in at 220 lbs and the XL fit perfectly. I was out in 28 degree weather back in February and I had my Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip Neck and a shirt underneath my parka and I was not cold one bit. I also like that it is waterproof because I got caught in the rain and the water beaded on the parka like a freshly waxed car. The Exposure II Parka is a great buy. I highly recommend it.
"Breathable, waterproof, and bombproof" 06/01/11
This parka has been with me on mountain peaks in midwinter and on epic bushwacks through rainy river valleys. I cannot recall ever getting wet or sweaty while wearing this jacket. It is just bulky enough to accommodate ample layer but cut well to allow good range of movement while climbing.
"Bombproof Shell" 02/22/11
I used this jacket on a trip up Mt. Washington in February. It was about 10 degrees and blowing 70 mph on the summit. This jacket it kept me protected from the wind and the hood worked great. The pit zips were also very helpful on the hike up to the summit to keep me from overheating. I was able to layer up underneath the jacket and still have all my mobility. The next day I went skiing, and the powder skirt kept me nice and snow-free despite tons of falls. Great jacket, I love it, and I'd buy it again given the opportunity!
"Great Jacket for the Price" 01/24/11
I've been looking for a more versatile outer-layer for playing in the mountains during the winter and finally settled on this one. If you're looking for an every day jacket with a normal fit, I would have gone down one size. I got this for layering, so it fits great with a layer or two underneath with plenty of room for movement. Underarm zippers come in really handy during heavy activity. Powder skirt works well too.
"Exceptional jacket for the price!" 12/13/10
I just received this jacket from none other than Moosejaw and boy is it great! Water beads up and falls off because of the waterproofing treatment. It's durable, comfortable, and looks great too!I've taken it on the ski trails and it's proven itself to me there as well. The powder skirt really comes in handy if you ever fall which I certainly did. The 2 lower exterior pockets are smaller than on my other ski jackets but the others make up for it for storage space. I'd highly recommend this jacket to anyone from the casual day-hiker to professional outdoors enthusiast!
"Would get this jacket again in a heartbeat. Just make sure you have something warm for underneath." 11/23/10
Here's the skinny; this jacket's been sitting on the Moosejaw box quite contentedly until yesterday. High was 10. Today, high around 0; -17 tonight. Snow blowing everywhere. This shell stops the wind. The collar and hood are excellent; keep snow from going down your neck. Weight of shell is ok; it's heavy/seems durable. May stop mtn. lion claws. Hope not to find out. 6'5"; 225 lbs. XL fits great. Sleeves actually leave some room. That alone stunned me. Plenty long in the torso. Another rarity. Exremely happy with product. Can't wait to use this skiing or snowshoeing in the backcountry this winter. Now that I have this, I didn't even try and con my wife into starting my car this morning.
"Wonderful Choice in Raingear" 11/11/10
I have to agree with all of the other positive reviews here. This is an excellent choice for a rain parka. Like another reviewer, this was one of my first MH pieces and it sold me on the company. My week-long hike around Mt. St. Helens was all I needed to bond with this coat. It kept me dry and warm on that "summer" backpack. Sure it is a bit heavier than some but look at the cost and look at the bombproof nature of this item. Do you really want something light and flimsy as your top layer? I think not! An easy recommendation!
"the MH exposure II parka is a great jacket..." 11/05/10
I finally got my hands on one just last week, i got it on sale $180 and i tested it out on the weekend... and it was great, i like the pockets there in the right spot if your carrying a pack.. and the internal pocket works nice, i love jackets with alot of pockets...There was only some light rain so the shell held up good, i have to test it on heavier rain.. i also picked up a bottle of revivex.. If u need a rain jacket and your sick of TNF grab this one you love it...
"Great durable mountain shell" 10/09/10
not as light as Pro-shell but it doesn't cost $400 buck either. Great jacket for the money, really burly and definitely waterproof, probably doesn't breathe as well as Pro-shell, but again, its not $400. the extra length is nice but makes things hard with a harness on. hood fits really well and is adjustable and removable. I would definitely buy this jacket again.
"A great jacket!" 10/06/10
Very comfortable jacket!I used it rain, snow, snow storm, for hiking, climbing and skiing, and it always works great!it's really strong, after several uses it has no damagethe conduit laminate really works, pockets are roomy and the napoleon pocket it's a great ideaeasy to wear even with mits or glovesyo can wear the hood with a helmet on without a problemthe 2 way zipper it's excellent if you use a harness under the jacketgreat purchase!
