Just returned from a 3-day backcountry ski trip using these bibs. As another reviewer stated, the front zipper fell down but it didn't affect the fit or usability. I bought these because my backpack hip belt always sits on top of the waistband of my ski pants and pushes them down, leaving my hip bone area sore and red from the bulkiness at that point. This was the first time in years that my hips were pain-free because the hip area in these pants is free of seams, belt loops, pockets, zippers or other bulky things that tend to rub. The drop seat worked great, there are lots of options for venting, the pants stretch where needed and the pockets are large enough to hold maps, snacks, gps, etc. I am a woman who normally wears a ladies size small. Bought the men's size small so lots of room for layering underneath. They are not especially flattering but they WORK.
"Excelent pants, but Moutain Harware missed a detail"
I spent a week skiing in the Alps with these. They have a great fit and the Dry.Q Elite worked as well as Gore-tex keeping me dry. The Stretch fabric seems very durable yet gave a little which helped my mobility. The only bad thing is the Two-way center-front zipper on the half bib would not stay up. There was no locking mechanism to this small zipper and it fell down to the two buttons at the belt every time I started skiing. I don't think this is a defective zipper, I think it is an untested design element. This should not be a reason to not buy these pants, but at the price point I expected more.
