"Excellent Jacket" 11/14/12
Best jacket for the money the down provides excellent loft and the outer shell is fairly tough overall it is an excellent jacket for 0-25 degrees the insulated hood is great and the fit is excellent. my only gripe is the parka could be a little longer to provide better thigh protection like the Canada Goose parkas do. There is no snorkel either so it is not for blizzard conditions at below zero temperatures.
"GREAT JACKET - Very Warm" 09/06/12
I rented this jacket twice to climb Mt Rainer to see how it preformed before buying one from Moosejaw. My summit temp was 10 degress with 30 mph winds and this jacket preformed to perfection. I was very warm on the summit and had to un-zip for my climb down. Never felt the wind nor did I ever get a chill. Looking forward to using it for all my expeditions.
"Not waterproof, but packs down small and keeps you warm!" 09/05/12
This jacket was recommended by my guide for climbing Kilimanjaro. Very nice parka - it packs down pretty small into the included stuffsack, and has some water resistant parts (around the shoulders). The 650-fill down keeps you nice and toasty. The removable hood is also pretty good - keeps you warm and provides some decent face coverage. Great price also, as I bought it on sale. Highly recommended.
"Warm, weather protector for Michigan Winters" 03/09/12
I bought this parka for my Mountain climb planned in Ecuador this summer, but I have been wearing it on my training hikes around Michigan. It is really warmmmm. I don't need much under it except a base layer. I've had it out in the rain and weather repellant tendencies have been great.I highly recommend this parka for cold weather use.
"Really warm! Sleeves too short." 02/22/12
First, this jacket is awesome and extremely warm. I used it on my Mt Washington winter ascent and it held through -55 windchill no problem. However, the sizing is a bit different than other Mountain Hardwear jackets I own, where I am a perfect "medium". The medium of this jacket has the sleeves way short! I am 6'2" 175lbs slim build. I had to return for the large size, which is unforunate.
"Warm, Warm, Warm" 02/16/12
I've had this jacket for a year now and it is awesome. This is a jacket designed for cold days - and I mean cold. Just how warm you say? My friend and I decided to have drinks at night in the dead of winter outside on my deck. I threw this bad boy on and was oblivious to the 18(f) degree temps outside even though I was doing nothing but raising 12oz weights :) It is like wearing a warm, cozy sleeping bag. The construction is durable. I haven't had an issue yet - no stitching problems, zipper problems, etc. You can wear this just about anywhere, but it is bulky. That may be its only downside.
"real warm" 09/21/11
Great on coldest winter days. Standing at the dog park with Fido or walking around the block, Stay warm when the wind blows from the north in this great fitting jacket. Best hood with velcro that stays on in the wind & blowing snow days. Buy it if you live in the freezing cold climate.
