"Comfortable, light and functional" 12/20/11
The vented sides and back, along with the two front pockets. Make this shirt very practical. If you have bulky arms, you can roll up your sleeves to your elbow, but you will not be able to roll them up far enough to be secured by the arm straps. This shirt is ideal for cool mornings and evenings.
"great for overseas travel and hiking" 07/24/11
These shirts keep me cool and protected me from the sun on trips overseas including Egypt and also worked out great for hiking trips including Mt Sinai and Glacier national park. In addition they are light weigth, easy to pack and clean.
"Great trekking shirt." 02/21/11
I've owned a pair of these shirts for about 8mths, taking them on months of hiking and lots of overseas trips. Great design, solid shirt. The wrist cuffs are quite loose and there is only one button so they tend to rotate a little, and i've had a few buttons fall off, but other than these issues i'd highly recommend this shirt.
"My Single Favorite Outdoor's Shirt!" 10/25/10
The Canyon shirt is easily the most versatile shirt I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable, breath extremely well, have a really nice athletic cut and look absolutely amazing. I really have to tip my hat for the color section as this line of shirts has the best color selection I have ever seen in an outdoor shirt. No funky colors like a lot of other outdoor companies like to produce. I think its easily the best looking shirt on the market. Whether your hiking, at the beach, walking the dog, or out for a night on the town, the Canyon shirt fits the bill.In my opinion its the best shirt on the market!
"Exceptionally versatile" 12/06/09
I wear this heavily in spring and summer, even to the beach. The Canyon shirt is ventilated enough that it is almost as comfortable as a t-shirt in hot weather, but it offers much more versatility. Wear it backpacking in warm weather and it will keep you relatively cool during the day, but as the weather cools in the evening or the bugs come out, roll down the sleeves and get some protection. Lots of pockets and super durable. I have beat the crap out of this shirt for 4 years with no obvious signs of wear. The flip-up sun collar I could do without, as it never folds down without fuss, and I just don't use it for sun protection. Good stuff!
"Just What I Needed" 10/13/09
For the most part, Moutain Hardware seems to "get it." This shirt is designed to shelter from the sun, put it can also be "taken off" in phases so you can wear it longer under a pack as the day goes from cool to warm. (I hate having to take off my pack for any reason but especially to put clothes on or take a layer off.) The seams and the pockets are in the right places. This is an important layer for any backpacker.
"Dead SOLID Awesome" 09/05/09
Worn this on enough miles to wear out a pair of Asolo GTXs and the thing looks brand new. Love the 2 pockets. One holds my map, candy, bear mace or a slinky all would fit at once actually. Other pocket has a zipper and that is for stuff I don't going thunk on the trail. Its warm enough as a layer when its cold and I have worn it with sleeves up in 95 with about 9000% humidity and survived. Venting works well. I would buy another if this one gets stolen or something.
"Best all around hiking shirt on the market!!" 06/05/09
This is hands down my favorite shirt. Not only are they extremely comfortable and well suited towards outdoors activities, They are also one of the best looking hiking shirts I have ever seen. I recently wore the Stainless version out to dinner for mothers day and I honestly had at least 5 people ask me about it. I purchased these shirts for hiking but have grown to like them so much that I now wear them around town more that anything else. They are extremely comfy and the mesh panels under the arms are great for cooling you down. If it weren't for the 700 character limit, I could go on complimenting these shirts all day long. If you buy only 1 shirt this season make it a Canyon shirt.
"Also a mountain shirt" 04/03/09
This is what I wear for social functions and hiking on the long approach to a mountain. It's more common for others to use a stripped down baselayer, with a light shell perhaps, on such big/remote mountain settings, but not for me. In hot weather, it serves as an ultra-light skin to protect my 'real' skin from frying. Pop up the collar (it's okay, it's not a Polo) and you can save that much more on sunscreen (better used as a condiment for your sammich later). In colder climates, a thin shirt underneath gives it adequate warmth. All you need do is to crank up gas on your legs and you'll be comfortable. The sleeve tabs are also groovy.
"Style with functionality!" 01/05/09
This shirt vents well, drys quickly, and looks great after days on the trail. Buttons are not the hard plastic type that can chip or crack, but some sort of hard rubber type material. Well made, attention to detail, durable...what more can I say. You'll not regret spending the money for this shirt.
"Absolutely love this shirt and will buy some more when I can." 07/16/08
I love this shirt. It is awesome how cool it keeps you even in the southeast with 95 degree temps and very high humidity. It dried very fast and the vents keep the breeze moving in the shirt to help keep the body temps down. For the price and the performance of this shirt I say get you one and try it. I do not think you would be disappointed.
