The Mountain Hardwear Lightweight Backpack is a packable backpack for all of your travelling needs. Jumping on a plane can be hectic, but not with the Lightweight Backpack in tow. This little guy can be stuffed into it's very own front pocket, so you can stow it in your larger carry-on for the trip there. Stuff the little guy full of souvenirs for the return trip home. The main compartment features a large zip-top for easy access to 16 liters of space. Inside the main section you'll find a sleeve for securing a hydration pouch, a book, or a tablet, so it won't float around all willy-nilly. The two side pockets have a bit of elastic on top, trapping a water bottle inside, or even a shoe on each side. Zip smaller, quick-access items into the front compartment and toss the simply padded straps over your shoulders before scuttling through the airport or around a new city.

MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small but durable I bought this to use as a bookbag for school. I've been using it for at least 7 months and it still looks as new as the day I got it. My dog even tried to chew through it to get a snack; he destroyed the spine of a notebook, but barely even scratched the fabric. No punctures at all. The only few downsides noted are the width-when I put a fullsize, 2" 3 ring binder in it, it is stretched fairly thin and can't fit much more. Additionally, with a notebook or similar, it is hard to stuff a water bottle (800mL Klean Kanteen) in the side pockets. A 1L Nalgene definitely won't fit. Otherwise, great pack. Would be excellent to use as a daypack or compressed in a larger pack to use on summit day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, compact, and very useful. I bought this item because my big sister had one which she uses all the time. She really liked hers so I thought I would try it out. It is very handy for day outings on the trail or just shopping for odds and ends.

Is this product waterproof?

Asked by: LLLL
Hey there! Thanks for asking. No, this item is not waterproof. The nylon would be slightly water resistant, but you would not want to drench it. If you plan on exposing it to water or rain, I suggest checking out a waterproof pack cover!
