The Mountain Hardwear LightWedge 3 DP Tent is a lightweight backpacking tent for tackling the trails with a friend or two. The LightWedge 3 DP can be pitched three separate ways, allowing you to choose how much or how little of the tent you bring along. The DP stands for DryPitch, allowing the fly to be pitched first so you won't get soaked when setting up camp in the rain. A total of three poles provides the structure to the tent, creating plenty of headroom to wait out the rain with a cross-legged card game. On a warm, clear night, pitch just the tent body for tons of ventilation while still hiding from creepy crawlies. A single door lessens the weight and a large vestibule has a large entry space for gear.

FEATURES of the Mountain Hardwear LightWedge 3 DP Tent

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good versitile tent with a few drawbacks Pros: keeps very dry in rain, even with stuff against sides. Water just pearls off the fly. Large vestibule. Good ventilation. Really nice light, strong aluminum poles. Quick easy set-up.,,,,Cons: Impossible to fit 3 grown men comfortably. Clips used to attach fly and footprint are small and awkward to snap on & off. Need to wiggle them, fear breaking them. Fly does not reach all the way to the ground (space of 5-6 "). Vestibule meets ground at a narrow angle, so it's hard to reach in there to open/close the zipper. Not enough pegs provided for all pegging loops. Not enough cords provided to storm-proof and properly secure fly (so it does not touch the tent) although loops are installed on fly for this. Canopy zipper looks flimsy and must be handled with utmost care. Missed having a second door.,,,,Notes: dry-pitching is best practiced in dry weather until you can do it efficiently to avoid a wet tent. We used a loft from an older Outbound tent which fit perfectly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tent This tent is a solid buy. As we all know the idea of putting 3 in a 3 man is crazy, but it fit my wife, my dog and I quite comfortably. Set up is a breeze and this tents quality has held up. I recommend it for purchase.
