DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After 20+ nights at 0 or colder, and 12 nights at minus 20 or colder, still lovin it The day this came in the mail, it was actually minus thirty, so I slept in the backyard to really try it out. Slept like a baby. With confidence up I took it out for a 3 day, 2 night trip, with temps in the early minus 30's. No tent or bivy sack, just slept on the snow with 2 pads (with a nalgene full of hot water at my feet!), and the only bad part was crawling out in the morning. I won't lie and say at minus 32 it's all warm and cozy like florida beach camping, but it beat's staying at home, and I still have all my toes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good, I really like the Mountain Hardware gear and this bag is no different. It's to heavy for me when it comes to backpacking more than a short one nighter. I got it for short hikes or truck camping with our Boy Scout Troop. Also Elk hunting, let the Llamas carry all my stuff!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag, Super warm Used this bag for a four day camping trip in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont in February. Had to crawl out of my tent on several occasions to clear the snow off of my tent. There was frost on my bag when I woke up but the insulation didn't appear to be damp. The bag kept me warm and dry. I did wear a base layer though. It might not be the lightest or most compressible bag on the market but it is certainly warm, has a nice loft, and has the benefit of being synthetic instead of down (in case the down gets wet). The draft collars are super nice around the neck and zipper. I'm 6'4" and 200lbs. I got the long bag and it fit nicely with room to turn. I chose Mountain Hardware because of their bag sizing and the temperature rating. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.
