The Mountain Hardwear Hammerhead 2 Tent is a freshly updated 2 person tent, perfect for warmer weather camping. The guaranteed waterproof construction of the Hammerhead 2 Tent includes a fully taped fly and perimeter seam with welded corners and guy clip anchors, and has been rain room tested for 24 hours with 1200 inches of rain. The Atlas 7001 Pole System used in the Hammerhead series is strong, lightweight, durable, resistant to corrosion and dents, and extremely easy to service in the field. The Proprietary Evolution Tension Arch stabilizes the tent structure, and the reflective starter points, guy-out loops, and zipper pulls make for easy set-up at night. Mountain Hardwear uses Pitch Light configuration on this 2 person tent to allow the user to set up a super-light, warmer weather shelter using only the tent fly, poles, and footprint pieces without the Hammerhead tent itself. "Great tent for the price" 04/18/12
Great tent its a little on the heavy side though and its more like a roomy 1 man than a 2 man but im a big guy to so maybe its just me. But the tent is very well made and plenty of pockets inside to keep your smaller gear out of the way

I have slept in my Hammerhead 2 tent many times from torrential rain in the Porcupine Mountain State Park in the Upper peninsula, and hot to mild weather at various places in MI. Through all this use my little shelter is still holding its own. On all occasions it has kept me close to bone dry when it rains, warm when its cold, and cool in the mornings when the hot sun is beating down. Also, the vestibules created by the rain fly are invaluable for keeping gear dry. I have pushed this tent to a three person max, and it was definitely cozy, but can for sure be done if needed. I would without a doubt recommend this tent to any outdoors enthusiast looking to camp. It won't let you down!
"Great for all seasons" 03/27/11
I picked this tent for its 3.5 season ability. I used it in the summer on Isle Royale for a 100 mile trip. It rained, we stayed dry. It was cold, we stayed warm. It was hot, we stayed cool. It is very versatile you can take the rain fly off and have a great view of the sky while not worrying if light rain comes around you can zip up the mesh and stay dry. It is easy to set up. I have also used this winter camping. It put up with the cold and kept me warm. There is plenty of room for 2 people. If you are looking for a light tent this is not the tent for you. If you want a tent that can be used in any weather, and is roomy.
