"great moderately priced tent"  10/19/07

A bit heavy for a backpacking tent, but great for car camping. Interior windows zip open to expose mesh for a nice cross breeze in the summer, and close completely to make it usable in cold weather too.

"Good but not wonderful"  07/24/07

The tent works well, but I was very displeased with the supposed large vestibules. Also, in order for all the clips to fit onto the poles, the bottom of the tent is pulled up off the ground, thus causing tension on the seams. I was half afraid to sleep anywhere but in the direct middle of the tent for fear of ripping the seams from the tension. However, I do like the interior head room at 6'7 I prefer large spaces and I fit decently well inside. If you are on the fence about getting this tent, I would recommend finding it in a store somewhere and checking it out first. The Hammerhead 3 might have been more to my liking and I should have looked into that one more. As a huge Mtn Hardwea

"Perfect two-person tent"  07/05/07

Great tent! Love the big window although it did get a little warm once with the fly all sealed up. It's a great size for two people and some gear.

"Just buy it . . . what's the worst that will happen?"  04/07/07

Awesome tent if not wilderness camping. I throw it in the trunk and take it to walk-in sites. One of the easiest I've ever pitched too . . . which is why anyone who watches me pitch it is amazed by the speed. It isn't the lightest tent, but it certainly is very appropriate for two adults away for a weekend.

"Spendy but worth it"  02/05/07

great tent, perfect stitching...really a 3 1/2 season i'd say. definatly a little on the heavy side (as a maintain a 6 lb baseweight) but for canoeing and things i love it.

"This could be the greatest tent ever!"  12/12/06

I am a huge MH fan, and this exceeded my expectations. It is fantastic in any camping or hiking situation, and paired with the footprint, it's an unbeatable combination!

"rock solid tent"  11/15/06

love the tent it stood up to eight inches of snow on it over night in yellowstone without any problems also love the big opening on almost the entire top of the tent. the main clips that connect the poles at the intersection have broke and the little metal part on the clips love to fall off, this is after hundreds of nights in it after about 8 years thats my only complaint.

"Perfect"  11/14/06

I gave the tent to my boyfriend as a birthday present, he had wanted it really really bad but couldn't afford it. So, I split the cost with his dad and we got it for him. It's November and he's still sleeping in it once in a while.

"It is fantastic"  05/23/06

I purchased the hammerhead 2 tent by mountain harwear and it is fantastic. Even though its a bit heavy for a striclty mountaineering tent, it is perfect for a mix between recreational camping and the more extreme and weight conscious camper. Its wonderful dual vestibules and entrance points made it convenient for me and by bud to access without stepping on eachother. Plus the "twilight" sections allow for some fantastic stargazing at night in warm weather without the fly. Compared to similar tents, this guy has a great weight to space ratio. Theres way more room then comparable tents, and those who do compare, weight at least a pound more. There was plenty of room for two and my golden, alon
