"The Best Synthetic Backpacking Sleeping Bags Ever!" 11/13/10
The Extralamina provides much more moving space for us bigger people than its Lamina/Ultralamina counterparts. I owned an Ultralamina for a short time, and found it to be a bit constrictive for a 6'4", 240 lb person, and while its still an awesome bag, there just wasnt enough room. The 40d nylon is a little heavier than the Ultralamina's 20d, but is still extremely soft, light, and comfortable. Ive only had this bag in the mid 30s, where it performed flawlessly, but Im thinking it might be a tad light for the stated 20 degree mark. All in all, an awesome synthetic sleeping bag.
"Undecided on the Bag" 09/21/10
Unfortunately, I'm one of those that can't sleep in a confined mummy bag. Sleep apnea combined with tossing, turning and spinning etc.I'm 6'2 - 200lbs and settled on the Extralamina 20 Long. The Long bag is listed as 3lb - 6oz. but this Long Extralamina bag weighs 2lb-15.5oz. 6.5oz lighter than spec's? That's 20% of the fill weight that is missing. Also , Loft is no where near listed 5" of loft. I fluffed it up as best I can and I can only get 3.5".This is the second one of these Extralamina 20 bags that have come up 6oz short on weight!!
