The Mountain Hardwear Direkt 2 Tent is a high altitude tent for fast mountain pursuits. The Direkt 2 is Mountain Hardwear's lightest mountaineering tent, a cozy housing for two or elbow room for one. The two Paleria DAC Featherlight NSL poles help keep the weight down and allow for easy set up. The internal pole system allows you to pitch it quickly, even in foul weather. The Evolution Tension Arch provides strength and stabilization in the toughest conditions with multiple guyout points to secure it further. The roof and door have zippered mesh vents, to allow for ventilation, helping with condensation and air flow, especially if you're snowed in for awhile. A single door at the short end allows for an easier exit in the middle of the night when bunking with a buddy. I prefer to snuggle, so much warmer.

FEATURES of the Mountain Hardwear Direkt 2 Tent

MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR PACK FIT GUIDE and INFO

• Determine the correct pack size by measuring from the top of your hip shelf to the C7 vertebrae, which is the protruding bump at the base of the neck.

• If you think you are between pack sizes, consider how and when you will be using the pack. For example, if you will be using the pack primarily in the winter, when more and bulkier clothing is required, you may opt to size up.

• You can find Torso Range and other size information in the description FEATURES or SPECIFICATIONS for each Mountain Hardwear pack. You can also refer to the size guide below to compare the current season packs by category.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great winter tent This tent is the lightest/smallest tent I have in my collection and more often than not it's the one I choose for winter outings. It's packed size is so small it's amazing (3x20 inches packed) and it's weight is incredible (2lb 12oz). I have yet to purchase the vestibule for this tent as I have never found I needed it. Although it's a great tent, it does have its shortcomings. Mainly its lack of ventilation and the incredibly poor quality guylines/stakes are the reasons I would rate this tent 4/5. Overall I would definitely recommend this to a friend but only after explaining it's drawbacks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice tent but tough set up I really wanted to like this tent. Single wall, spacious for one and light as can be. The tent is bomber and packs up small but there seems to be one fatal flaw. You need super strength or mad skills in setting this baby up. Apparently i have neither. This tent is so hard to put up its crazy. I thought i was going to break the poles putting up and taking it down. I had read on another site that this was a problem but took the review with a grain of salt. Please dont. This tent is not something I would want to fiddle with after a long hard day of travel. Very tight fit. Returned for the north face assault 2. Same basic design with external poles. This tent may work for you but take heed. Its a chore to set up.
