The Mountain Equipment Men's Firefox Jacket is a waterproof jacket for fast alpine ascents. The Firefox has been built with Gore-Tex Active fabric, it's waterproof, while still being the most breathable Gore-Tex fabric on the market. That means it will keep the oncoming weather off without getting too hot, plus the pit zips allow for excess heat to escape fast. The alpine fit cuts close to the body and articulated, pre-shaped sleeves keep movement at a maximum. The hood is fully adjustable and won't block your view, with a brim that shields your eyes from rain and snow.

Not your mother's gore shell, unless she already owns oneEverybody seems like they're on a diet. Carb loading, fat cutting, all vegan but no rocks, nothing but kale and coffee. Usually, it makes them less fun to hang around. So you might thing that Goretex Active is some strange excercise/juicing/yoga program suggested by the fabric's two week girlfriend. It isn't. ,,,,This is what I would call a three season shell for Montana. In the tempestuous spring, where you're liable to get rain, snowed, and blown upon all at the time, it gives peace of mind when stashed in your pack (and how light it is while stashed there). In summer rainstorms you can keep the death march cruising with those open pit zips. Hell, you can even stick your arms out them and waggle all four appendages at your disbelieving significant other like some kind of Hindu god of body odor. Fall is exactly the same as spring, and the shell does exactly as well. Good pockets, nice hood, and ME's clear attention to details you've never considered round it out, but smoothly.

Too SmallI am 5'11, 180 lbs. and the large was too small in the shoulders and chest. The cut of the jacket was odd. Additionally the sleeves are quite narrow and the Velcro closure is poorly designed.
