Excellent as a jacket for cold day and as a mid-layer for most frigid daysI haven't owned this jacket for long, but so far, I love it's versatility. I have worn it comfortably with only a long sleeve waffle shirt underneath when walking my dog with temperatures in the 30's. When windchill put the temperature in the negatives, this jacket under my Gamma MX kept me quite warm for several hours. It is extremely light and compresses to almost nothing. The pockets are large and warm. The only feature that I had to get used to was the left-handed zipper.,,,,As for the size, I'm 6'0" and weigh 210, with 35" arms, 17" neck, 42" chest, 34" waist. The extra large is a perfect fit. The sleeves are long enough so they don't ride up when I reach above my head. When zipped, the jacket is snug across the chest and shoulders without being tight or restrictive. It has waist cinch cords, so you can tighten the jacket up if needed. I initially ordered a Large based on the size chart provided by Mountain Equipment, but it was much too small. Hope this helps.
